COVID-19 Situation Update Makwanpur / 19 April 2020 The meeting of the committee in Bagmati Provincial Assembly has started online. The meeting of the Education, Health and Agriculture Committee in the state assembly was held through video conference.Meeting on Corona Infection and Prevention Measures was held in the House through electronic means. The video conference was chaired by Ghanshyam Dahal, chairman of the committee. Speaking at the meeting, committee member Kanchan Khanal said that Home Quarantine should be made effective. He further stated that the province government should facilitate the students in the city centered to go to the destination. At the meeting, Goma Bhurtel said that the government should show flexibility in the matter of pedestrians, saying there was no alternative to effective lockdown. Member Prem Bahadur Pulami "Chintu" said that the members of the state assembly should think of resolving the problems in their respective constituencies. Speaking at the meeting, Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha said that while the members of their state assembly were safe, they should address the problems of the people. Speaker Shrestha urged to play an effective role in the implementation of the decisions taken by the Government of regarding Lakdaun and Corona. Minister for Social Development Yubaraj Dulal said that more than 3,000 samples of corona are being tested in the state and testing has already started from all the districts of the state. He said that the state government has made arrangements for adequate quarantine and is preparing to add more isolation. Minister Dulal said that every day, the Coronation State Government was coordinating with the central government and the local level. He said that he had talked to the social development ministers of the seven province, including the education minister of the federal government, through video conference. According to INSEC Representative Uddhav Pokharel, 60 people have donated blood in a blood donation program held in Charikot on April 19 to prevent shortage of blood for emergency treatment. A blood donation program was held at Blood Bank in Charikot district headquarters. Corona virus being tested in Dolakha district through rapid tests of people from third countries including . According to Vibhu Kumar Jha, Chief of the Health Office, Dolakha and Information Officer of the District Disaster Management Committee, 195 people have been tested for the corona virus through RAPID technology till April 18. According to INSEC Representative Bimala Pandey, 39 people have undergone rapid medical examination on April 19 at the quarantine site of Kamalamai Municipality, Ward-6, Sivanagar. The health check-up of the citizens of the Muslim community of Sindhuli has been started as the local administration has intensified monitoring in the religious areas. With the increase in police surveillance, 30 people from Sindhuli were reached in Rajbiraj district of Saptari along with the Muslim religious community who witnessed the corona infection in Udaipur. Nepal Civil Society Employees' Sindhuli has celebrated its inauguration day with financial support to Sindhuli Hospital for control and treatment of corona infection. On the occasion of the 31st founding day of the organization, Rs. 15,555 has been donated to the hospital. An estimated Rs. 50,000 has been added to the disaster management fund of Kamalai Municipality. Relief Nepal, Hudek Sindhuli and TDH Germany have jointly provided Rs 50,000 on April 19. According to INSEC Representative Ramesh Giri, 31 suspects have been tested for corona at Bhaktapur District Hospital on April 19. The medical superintendent of Bhaktapur Hospital, Dr. Krishna Kumar, said that all the results of the test were negative. According to INSEC Sindhupalchok District Representative Nati Babu Dhital, the Helambu Municipality has been distributing free medicines at their homes to patients, including long-suffering patients, people with chronic diseases, pressure and sugar. Rural Municipality Chairperson Nimagaljen Lama said that the medicine was provided to the doctors and health workers in the village. A total of 216 people who have returned to Sindhupalok from different countries have undergone rapid test till April 19.
