COVID-19 Situation Update Makwanpur / 19 April 2020 The meeting of the committee in Bagmati Provincial Assembly has started online. The meeting of the Education, Health and Agriculture Committee in the state assembly was held through video conference.Meeting on Corona Infection and Prevention Measures was held in the House through electronic means. The video conference was chaired by Ghanshyam Dahal, chairman of the committee. Speaking at the meeting, committee member Kanchan Khanal said that Home Quarantine should be made effective. He further stated that the province government should facilitate the students in the city centered to go to the destination. At the meeting, Goma Bhurtel said that the government should show flexibility in the matter of pedestrians, saying there was no alternative to effective lockdown. Member Prem Bahadur Pulami "Chintu" said that the members of the state assembly should think of resolving the problems in their respective constituencies. Speaking at the meeting, Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha said that while the members of their state assembly were safe, they should address the problems of the people. Speaker Shrestha urged to play an effective role in the implementation of the decisions taken by the Government of regarding Lakdaun and Corona. Minister for Social Development Yubaraj Dulal said that more than 3,000 samples of corona are being tested in the state and testing has already started from all the districts of the state. He said that the state government has made arrangements for adequate quarantine and is preparing to add more isolation. Minister Dulal said that every day, the Coronation State Government was coordinating with the central government and the local level. He said that he had talked to the social development ministers of the seven province, including the education minister of the federal government, through video conference. According to INSEC Representative Uddhav Pokharel, 60 people have donated blood in a blood donation program held in Charikot on April 19 to prevent shortage of blood for emergency treatment.
