WELCOME to 2019! As I start my two-year term as the Chamber Chairman, we have an exciting new development to announce. We are establishing the North Mason Chamber Foundation, a separate 501©3 organization, to serve our community. I am extremely thankful that we have a collaborative relationship with regional Pam Volz, Chairman chambers and our Mason Economic of the Board; Business Solutions Development Council (EDC) to assist our Coordinator PacMtn Chamber as we move forward on this WDC & WorkSource endeavor. While managed by our Chamber, our Foundation will have a separate board of directors and bylaws, governed by a three-pronged objective dedicated to long-term economic development, something that I find extremely valuable to our members and community. We will seek partnerships and programs that attract new business, provide ongoing business training and ensure future beautification of our area. With my daily work in workforce development with the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council and the Mason EDC, I am so proud to be part of this venture and will be very active in the growth of North Mason. Look for announcements about this exciting effort in the months ahead, all in support of economic vitality and healthy communities throughout Rural Mason County.

2019 NORTH MASON COUNTY GUIDE • northmasonchamber.com | 9 | The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound is excited to relocate our existing North Mason Teen Center from a tired portable into the newly-renovated former North Mason School District (NMSD) administration building on the secondary campus. The Teen Center, set to open this year, will house a commercial kitchen, separate tutoring and social/ recreational areas for middle school and high school youth, and a dedicated performing arts room. In partnership with the NMSD, club members will also have access to the community gym and multiple sports fields for years to come. The mission of the Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We provide youth with after-school and summer programming in three impact areas: Academic Success, Character & Leadership Development, and Health & Lifestyles. Thank you to our community leaders and the NMSD who had a vision for a Boys & Girls Club over 20 years ago. We are proud to open the doors of our new North Mason Teen Center and to continue making a positive impact in the lives of the young people we serve.

The 15,000 square foot facility houses The HUB Shop where you will find a variety of new and gently used goods at great prices. A 6,000 sq.ft.
