Shelter/NFI/CCCM Cluster Meeting, , July 17, 2019 10:00 – 12:00 Attendees: KBC, KMSS, Shalom, OCHA, SI, Metta, UNHCR Apologies: ICRC, NRC, Cordaid Agenda Action Point 1 Review of action point of previous cluster meeting Follow up with DDM and MSA, 1) Pamatee: Information shared to all cluster leads. CCCM to request MSA and DDM to include them in list at IDPs in host and request government list while will include in CCCM list either as camp like setting or IDPs in host. for support on identifying the KMSS IDPs with shelters in Mytkyina areas to respond them on need 2) The IDP site in Sadung town consists of 85 Lisu households / 474 individuals displaced in basis. early 2017 who are living in a local government General Administration Department (GAD) compound. Most families do not want to return to their villages of origin even if it becomes safe to do so, as it is easier to access education and services closer to Sadung town. The land and the road to the site needs gravel as it’s very slippery and inaccessible by car, difficult for people to walk during rainy season. The farm land for the IDPs for cultivation or hill cultivation is still a question mark while the livelihood options are not been thought of. Some agencies mentioned about life skill training but still unclear.

2 Recent Updates:

A water well is constructed near KBC to follow up with the issue. the river side but it’s full of muddy water so cannot use it. IDPs are waiting the monsoon to end so that they can dig another well however IDPs are not sure where can they dig another well. Alternative for water solution is an urgent need. There is no plan to move until the water issue is resolved however, IDPs want to move as soon as possible. Though it was suggested to reuse the shelter materials for fencing in new site for lone khin RC, the tool kits and some labor charge would be still needed. IDPs have requested for Tarpaulin for temporary solution for the leaking roof during monsoon until they move to new site. KMSS supported the flood affected site. Shitapru RC 35 HHs 230 with Rice (228 Kg), oil 10 L and 6 Kg salt and firewood for 3 days. Also supported at one of the Chet Paung Chan sites with drinking water and snacks. KBC: Tat Kone San Pya, IDPs already shifted on 15 July. Total 31 HHs are settled in new site. KBC to share the GPS Camp name and ward will remain same. UNHCR: UNHCR conducted CCCM training for the Camp Management Agencies from Kachin and Northern Shan States. 23 participants attended the training and were briefed on cluster approach, standards, camp management agencies’ responsibilities, protection mainstreaming, Durable solution as well as half day of desktop simulation including a real time scenario with various injects revolving around a different phases of camp lifecycle.

The camp profile round 9 report has been finalized. It will be shared to all partners through email. Any agency who would like to receive raw data can contact to the cluster coordinator in Myikyina to receive the Raw data for further analysis.

UNHCR conducted super quick assessment at the 11 evacuation sites for flood affected people in Myitkyina, Waingmaw and Bhamo area. Distributed around 1,776 people with NFIs on need basis (Mosquito Net, Mats, Blankets, Kitchen sets, Tarpaulin, Plastic Bucket and Jerry can). Has plan to support over 2,000 more population in Bhamo and Waingmaw area.
