2019 House Color Pallet Selection Process & Pallet For Approval Background: Color selection is not an easy task. Color can evoke strong emotions and preferences, and people see the same color differently. But the value of homes in communities and the overall image of a community can be highly impacted by house colors. Color trends and preferences change over time, and the last time the color pallet of Jog Estates was updated was in 2007. With the addition of different roof tile colors, and terra cotta roof tiles not being used much in new upscale construction, it seemed a reasonable time to evaluate Jog Estate’s color pallet. Objectives: 1. Keep Jog Estates looking up to date regarding home color choices in communities with which we compete for buyers (primarily West Boynton Beach and West Delray Beach). 2. Increase home values by having buyer preferred color choices. 3. Stay consistent with original PBC Jog Estates community approval. 4. Keep as many current colors that are used by many owners and/or are a good fit with objectives 1 &2. 5. Select a range of colors that work together and also work with roof tile options. Obtained input from a professional designer and several non-owner realtors regarding color trends in new West Boynton Beach and Delray Beach communities. 2. Research house color impact on resale – colors to use and to avoid (Bob Villa and Zillow studies). 3. Color samples painted on canvas and evaluation of colors in sunlight. Research: 1. Statement from color committee that established current colors in 2007.
2. PBC approval for Jog Estates in 2000 – Colors shall be neutral, pastel, OR earth tones.
3. Zillow and Bob Villa research – a. Colors to avoid: Bright Yellows, Pink, Peach, Dark Brown b. Colors to use: Putty (beige), greige Light Gray, Yellow/Gold hint (not strong or pastel), Blue- gray, Off-White
4. Newer communities – Beige, greige, soft gold, off-white, gray, grayish blue
