    Public Swimming Pools List of Director approved colors In accordance with the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) rules 3701-31-02(G)(2) and (3) and 5.1(C)(1)(b) "the interior surfaces of pools and spas shall be painted white, unless the color is approved by the director." This requirement became effective Jan. 1, 1999 and was revised effective April 1, 2011; and applies to new pools and spas as well as existing pools/spas that will be repainted or will receive a new finish. The colors listed below were submitted to the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and have been approved. This list does not apply to primer colors. This list also applies to other colored finishes such as tile and pool/spa liners. This list may be periodically revised to add or delete colors. If you have any questions, please call the Public Swimming Pool Program at 614-644-7438. This is not a comprehensive list: any color may be submitted by the manufacturer and be evaluated on a case by case basis. Black or dark lane markers and target marks are exempted from this requirement provided that they meet the standards of the appropriate governing body.     FDM COLOR SPECIFICATION RULES COLOR STANDARDS The FDM has established a set of 24 standard colors to use in titles and descriptors. By using standard titles, it helps the entries in the galleries sort so that similar discs appear together. It also assists users when trying to search. Instead of having to guess if the disc is described as blue, teal, turquoise, aquamarine, cyan or blue-green, using the FDM standard color name (turquoise in this example) makes it easier to search by color for a disc or other museum item. The FDM Color Standards guide can be found at www.flyingdiscmuseum.com/colorstandards. The following is a set of rules for how to apply the color standards to titles and descriptors. 1. If a manufacturer or vendor has defined explicit color names for its discs or other items, those names should be used. Examples: Ancient Alien Green, Peach, Aqua Blue Glow 2. For color hues that are not represented by the color wheel: a. If the color is a synonym for a color on the wheel, use the color from the wheel in the title and descriptor. Example: Violet disc—Purple in the title and descriptor. b. If the color is a different hue than the color wheel name, use the closest color wheel name in the title. SCHULTZ 485 THE BEHA VIOR OF VERMILION-SUPPRESSOR IN MOSAICS By JACK SCHULTZ CARNEGIE INSTITUTION OF WASHINGTON, RESIDENT AT THE CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, PASADENA, CALIFORNIA Communicated June 13, 1932 It is a point of interest whether the suppressors of the effects of mutant genes affect development in the same way as do the wild-type allelomorphs of these genes, or behave in some other manner. The case of vermilion- suppressor in Drosophila melanogaster presents the advantage for the study of this problem that the suppressor is known to be a recessive mutant gene at another locus, and not a duplicating wild-type allelomorph of vermilion (Schultz and Bridges, 1932). The gene vermilion has the peculiarity (Sturtevant, 1920) that, in mosaics, not only the genetic constitution of the eye, but also that of the rest of the fly, determines the color of the mosaic patch. Tissue that is genetically wild type in such a mosaic, however, is "self-differentiating;" its characteristics are determined, as Sturtevant points out, by its own genetic constitution. The behavior of vermilion-suppressor in mosaics therefore provides a test of the similarity of its behavior to that of the wild-type allelomorph of vermilion. Two series of experiments were carried out. In one set, males con- taining the genes vermilion-suppressor, apricot, crossveinless, vermilion and forked, were made heterozygous for a duplication covering the sup- pressor. This duplication (134), found in an x-ray experiment by Dr. Th. Dobzhansky, belongs to the group of eversporting chromosome re- arrangements, and thus frequently gives mosaic patches.

In rodents, the brown adipose tissue is under the control of sympathetic signals originating in the hypothalamus. However, the putative connection between the depots of brown/beige adipocytes and the hypothalamus in humans has never been explored. The objective of this study was to evaluate the response of the hypothalamus and brown/beige adipose tissue to cold stimulus in obese subjects undergoing body mass reduction following gastric bypass. SUBJECTS/METHODS: We evaluated twelve obese, non-diabetic subjects undergoing Roux-in-Y gastric bypass and 12 lean controls. Obese subjects were evaluated before and approximately 8 months after gastric bypass. Lean subjects were evaluated only at admission. Subjects were evaluated for hypothalamic activity in response to cold by functional magnetic resonance, whereas brown/beige adipose tissue activity was evaluated using a (F 18) fluorodeoxyglucose positron emisson tomography/ computed tomography scan and real-time PCR measurement of signature genes. RESULTS: Body mass reduction resulted in a significant increase in brown/beige adipose tissue activity in response to cold; however, no change in cold-induced hypothalamic activity was observed after body mass reduction.

Some of these have per- sisted throughout the centuries and are those which refer to the simple colors or ranges such as red or yellow. As the language developed, more and more color names were invented to describe the colors used by art and industry and in late years in the rapidly expanding field of sales promotion. Some of these refer to the pigment or dye used, as Ochre Red or Cochineal, or a geographical location of its source such as Naples Yellow or Byzantium. Later when it became clear that most colors are bought by or for women, many color names indicative of the beauties and wiles of the fan- sex were introduced, as French Nude, Heart’s Desire, Intimate Mood, or Vamp. Fanciful color names came into vogue such as Dream Fluff, Happy Day, Pearly Gates, and Wafted Feather. Do not suppose that these names are without economic importance for a dark reddish gray hat for Milady might be a best seller ; if advertised as Mauve Wine whereas it probably would not if the color were called Paris Mud.
