Options and Themes in South East England

All our camps combine dynamic, effective English language classes with a varied and active social programme. Some camps also offer special course options or themes that run throughout the programme.

Summer camp themes - Harry Potter

If you choose to study at a Studio camp in a boarding school you will be following in the footsteps of those famous “Harry Potter” wizards. Each week, English lessons help you make the most of your stay by adding a flavour of Hogwarts school to the classroom. This helps you build vocabulary, highlight grammar and practise your conversation skills. During activities there will be “Harry Potter” theme-based activities to choose from as well as the usual popular Studio options

“Harry Potter” themed lesson topics include Harry Potter’s family life, the Sorting Hat and the houses, the First Flying lesson, the sport of Quidditch, the magic Camp: Sir Richard Patronus, the Department of Mysteries, Fantastic Beasts and lessons we can learn from the Harry Potter stories. Activity course option - English and Dance

This course option is open to dancers of all levels, and both male and female students are welcome. The courses run for the first 3 weeks of Sir Richard, on a weekly basis, with 8 hours of dance classes per week (instead of afternoon mixed activities), and a performance finale in the camp theatre each Saturday evening.

With the help and advice of our dance teachers, you will focus on your technique and fitness and be encouraged to develop your own choreography. Camp: Sir Richard The main focus is on modern jazz dance, but classes are supplemented by workshops Location: Reading in a variety of styles from around the world - from Bollywood to cheerleading to salsa. Ages: 10 to 16 These dance styles vary from week to week and help to inspire experienced dancers English level: Elementary to Advanced with creative ideas and to introduce less experienced dancers to different styles.
