The list of Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) of Iran is updated. Until now, 502 species belonging to 189 genera and 24 subfamilies are recorded. Two subfamilies, Cryptinae and Ichneumoninae, are the most species-rich groups, while the subfamilies Brachycyrtinae, Collyriinae, Cylloceriinae, Hybrizontinae, Mesochorinae, Orthocentrinae and Orthopelmatinae represented by only one species in Iran. Three species of family, Anisobas rebellis Wesmael, 1845 (Ichneumoninae), Exochus britannicus Morley, 1911 (Metopiinae) and Trychosis priesneri Rossem, 1971 (Cryptinae), are also newly recorded for the fauna of Iran. We also present additional comments for the valid names of some species, together with the general distribution. Key words: Fauna, insects, checklist, Ichneumonidae, new records, parasitic wasps, Iran INTRODUCTION Ichneumonidae is a large family of parasitic wasps with about 60, 000 species belonging to 35 genera worldwide (Townes, 1969; Çoruh and Özbek, 2005). This family includes 153 fossil species (Yu and Horstmann, 1997a, b). Ichneumonids are parasitoids of Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera and rarely spiders and other arthropod groups (Çoruh and Kolarov, 2010). A catalogue of Iranian Ichneumonidae has recently been published by Kolarov and Ghahari (2005), in which they recorded 144 species belong to 65 genera and 14 subfamilies. Since then, further investigations have been performed on the faunal diversity of the ichenumonides in Iran both as the regional faunistic researches (Masnadi, 2005, 2006a, b, 2007; Kolarov and Ghahari, 2006, 2007, 2008; Masnadi and Jussila, 2008a, b, 2009; Zarepour et al., 2008, 2009; Masnadi et al., 2010; Ghahari et al., 2010a, b, c; Ghahari and Jussila, 2010a, b, c, 2011a, b, c, d, e; Ghahari and Schwarz, 2011; Ghahari, 2012; Barahoei et al., 2012, 2013a; Mohammadi et al., 2013) and occasional records (Sharifi and Javadi, 1971; Gonzalez et al., 1980; Malkeshi and Kheiabani, 1997; Sedghian, 2001; Mojeni and Sedivy, 2001; van Achterberg and Mehrnejad, 2002; Roshandel and Ebrahimi, 2003; Narolsky et al., 2003; Talebi et al., 2004, 2005; Hesami et al., 2005; Karimpour et al., 2005a, b, 2007; Masnadi and Sadeghi, 2006; Masnadi and Riedel, 2006; Karimpour and Horstmann, 2006; Ghadiri et al., 2007; Lotfalizadeh et al., 2007, 2009, 2012; Golizadeh et al., 2008; Nourbakhsh et al., 2008; Daneshvar et al., 2009; Zarnegar et al., 2009; Karimpour and Razmi, 2010; Kishani et al., 2010; Akbarzadeh, 2011; Mohammadi et al., 2011; Razmi et al., 2011; Firuzi Jahantighi et al., 2012; Naderian et al., 2012; Barahoei et al., 2013b; Ghahari et al., 2012). More than three hundered species have been recorded after the first catalogue by Kolarov and Ghahari (2005). *Corresponding Author: E-mail: [email protected] ©2012 FERDOWSI UNIVERSITY OF MASHHAD, IRAN 84 IRANIAN JOURNAL OF ANIMAL BIOSYSTEMATICS Vol.8, No.2 Thus, itis necessary to update the list of recorded species from Iran. In this paper all known species of Ichneumonidae from Iran are listed, as well as the valid names for some species that previously recorded under different names. In addition, new distributional data for some species, besid the resord of three new species are presented here. MATERIAL AND METHODS The major part of the data has been extracted from the literature of Iranian Ichneumonidae and cited for each species in the text. Additional data were also provided for some species from the collected material during 2009-2011 by a standard sweeping net at various locations of Eastern part of Iran (Khorasan-e-Razavi and Sistan and Baluchestan Provinces). Identifications were made using reliable keys and the original descriptions (Townes, 1969, 1970a, b, 1971). The newly collected material is deposited in the insect collection of Department of Plant Protection, University of Zabol, Iran. Nomenclature, host data (where exist) and distribution data are mainly taken from Yu et al. (2012). RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Data of 502 species of Ichneumonidae are listed alphabetically below according to subfamily names. The data are sorted to the valid name, author and year, provincial distribution in Iran, the general distribution of species as well as the remarks. New evidences for the occurrence of some species are also given, that indicated by a dagger (†). Three species, Anisobas rebellis Wesmael, 1845 (Ichneumoninae), Exochus britannicus Morley, 1911 (Metopiinae) and Trychosis priesneri Rossem, 1971 (Cryptinae), are newly recorded for the fauna of Iran, indicated by an asterisks (*) in the text.

ANNALES HISTORICO-NATURALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGARICI Tomus 86. Budapest, 1994 p. 79-83 Ichneumoninae from Spain (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) in the Hungarian Natural History Museum by J. SELFA, Burjassot & S. BORDERA, Alacant SELFA, J. & BORDERA, S. (1994): Ichneumoninae from Spain (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) in the Hungarian Natural History Museum. - Annls hist. nat. Mus. natn. hung. 86: 79-83. Abstract - Material collected in Spain and preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum belonging to the subfamily Ichneumoninae is studied. The 28 species belong into 6 tribes: Ichneumonini, Listrodomini, Phaeoge- nini, Protichneumonini, Trogini and Zimmerini. Three of them arc highly important: Neotypus intermedins inter medins MOCSÁRY, 1883 is a species from Spain whose type is studied, Cotiheresiarches dims (WESMAEL, 1853) and Cratichneumon fugitivus (GRAVENHORST, 1829) are first records for the Iberian fauna. INTRODUCTION The Hungarian Natural History Museum houses a good series of Ichneumonidae species. We also had the opportunity to examine a considerable number of Mediterranean specimens. Howewer, all these species are badly in need of an exhaustive reclassification. Our main objective was to present new data regarding the Spanish species of Ichneumoninae, that accumulated in the Hymenoptera Collection in Budapest. Although the largest part of the Collection is based on materials obtained by SZÉPLIGETI and MocsÁRY, in this study we were highly interested in that part of KRIECHBAUMER'S Collection (mainly collected by KORB and placed in Munich: SELFA 1992) which was deposited here. Similarly, a long series of specimens recently collected by J. & A. PODLUSSÁNY was also taken into consideration. Twenty-eight species from the tribes Ichneumonini, Listrodomini, Phaeogenini, Protichneu monini, Trogini and Zimmerini are discussed.

  • MONITORING REPORT 2020 BILL BUDD It Is with Great Sadness That We Must Report the Death of Bull Budd in Autumn 2020
Wimbledon and Putney Commons ECOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING REPORT 2020 BILL BUDD It is with great sadness that we must report the death of Bull Budd in autumn 2020. Bill was our much respected, dragonfly and damselfly recorder and a member of the Wildlife and Conservation Forum. As well as recording on the Commons, Bill also worked as a volunteer at the London Natural History Museum for many years and was the Surrey Vice County Dragonfly Recorder. Bill supported our BioBlitz activities and, with others from the Forum, led dedicated walks raising public awareness of the dragonfly and damselfly populations on the Commons. In September 2020 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the recording and conservation of Odonata, a newly identified dragonfly species found in the Bornean rainforest* was named Megalogomphus buddi. His contributions will be very much missed. * For further information see: https://british-dragonflies.org.uk/dragonfly-named-after-bds-county-dragonfly-recorder-bill-budd/ Dow, R.A. and Price, B.W. • Inventory and Review of Quantitative Models for Spread of Plant Pests for Use in Pest Risk Assessment for the EU Territory1
EFSA supporting publication 2015:EN-795 EXTERNAL SCIENTIFIC REPORT Inventory and review of quantitative models for spread of plant pests for use in pest risk assessment for the EU territory1 NERC Centre for Ecology and Hydrology 2 Maclean Building, Benson Lane, Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, OX10 8BB, UK ABSTRACT This report considers the prospects for increasing the use of quantitative models for plant pest spread and dispersal in EFSA Plant Health risk assessments. The agreed major aims were to provide an overview of current modelling approaches and their strengths and weaknesses for risk assessment, and to develop and test a system for risk assessors to select appropriate models for application. First, we conducted an extensive literature review, based on protocols developed for systematic reviews. The review located 468 models for plant pest spread and dispersal and these were entered into a searchable and secure Electronic Model Inventory database. A cluster analysis on how these models were formulated allowed us to identify eight distinct major modelling strategies that were differentiated by the types of pests they were used for and the ways in which they were parameterised and analysed. These strategies varied in their strengths and weaknesses, meaning that no single approach was the most useful for all elements of risk assessment. Therefore we developed a Decision Support Scheme (DSS) to guide model selection. The DSS identifies the most appropriate strategies by weighing up the goals of risk assessment and constraints imposed by lack of data or expertise. Searching and filtering the Electronic Model Inventory then allows the assessor to locate specific models within those strategies that can be applied.

SPIXIANA 30 1 39–63 München, 1. Mai 2007 ISSN 0341–8391 Über Wirtsbeziehungen europäischer Ichneumon-Arten (Insecta, Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Ichneumoninae) Rolf Hinz (†) und Klaus Horstmann Hinz, R. & K. Horstmann (2007): On the host relationships of European species of Ichneumon Linnaeus (Insecta, Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Ichneumoninae). – Spixiana 30/1: 39-63 For 64 European species of Ichneumon host relationships were ascertained by two methods: by exposing laboratory-bred host pupae (rarely larvae) to fi eld-collected parasitoid females (49 species), and by rearing parasitoids from fi eld-collected host pupae (31 species). In 16 cases both methods were used, with concurring results. For many species information on life history (e.g. oviposition behaviour, number of generations) is provided. Host selection, phenology, and phylogeny within the genus Ichneumon are discussed. Klaus Horstmann, Lehrstuhl Zoologie III, Biozentrum, Am Hubland, D-97074 Würzburg, Germany.
