THE CAVS ON LA MEGA 87.7 FM: Veteran broadcaster Rafael Hernández Brito, known as Rafa "El Alcalde", continues to bring his high-energy play-by-play style to each game in Spanish on the Cavaliers broadcast on LA MEGA 87.7 FM. La Mega 87.7 FM will continue to broadcast all 82 regular season games and all preseason and postseason games in Spanish. The 2016-17 season is the third in franchise history that Cavaliers games are covered in a second language.

Each Cavaliers broadcast begins with a 15-minute pregame show, hosted by Hernández Brito, which sets the scene for the game, including the latest news about the Cavs and the NBA. Following the game broadcast, he also hosts the postgame show, which features a complete recap with highlights and postgame commentary.

Nationally, Hernández Brito’s broadcasting experience includes 8 years as the voice of NFL football for Spanish Broadcasts on Univision from 2005 to 2013, and he has worked 11 Super Bowls. He was also the Spanish play-by-play voice of the Miami Dolphins, as well as handling the play by play for Major League Baseball, boxing and UFC. Rafa has covered the last five Soccer World Cups. With the 2015 NBA Finals, he became the first broadcaster in the United States to call the Finals of all 3 major sports in Spanish.

CAVALIERS AND WARRIORS PRESENTING KIDS WITH GIFTS PRIOR TO CHRISTMAS DAY GAME: ‘Tis the season to spread good cheer, and the Cavs will be doing just that for a group of Cleveland-area children on Sunday. The Cavs will welcome to the game 32 kids (ages 8-12) from the City of Cleveland Recreation Department for a “Christmas Day Gift Giveaway.” The participating kids will take the floor with both the Cavs and Warriors for the national anthem. Following the anthem, the players and head coaches from both teams will give the kids their presents. Each child will receive a brand-new Chromebook and a Cavs Fathead. With new gifts in hand, the kids and their chaperones will then enjoy the Cavs-Warriors matchup in suites provided by the Cavs. The team is also providing transportation for the group to and from The Q that day. The Christmas Day Gift Giveaway is part of a NBA-wide initiative, as the teams playing in the other Christmas Day games will be doing something similar.
