Candidate’s biographical summary
Lee, Boo Yun is a professor and chair of Department of Applied Art Education, and head of Department of Applied Art, graduate school, Hanyang University.
She received a B.A. (1975) as a summa cum laude MFA (1977) in Applied Arts from Seoul
National University, and a Ph.D. (1983) from University of Missouri, Columbia.
She is the first ceramic artist who have attained a Ph.D in Korea.
In 1975 at the Korea Design Exhibition, she as the youngest ceramic artist was selected as the selected artist with 3 times successive winning special prizes in 1973, 1974 and
1975.
Today she serves as an invited artist and juror for the same event.
Lee, Boo Yun has exhibited extensively both in Korea and internationally.
