Founded by seasoned Afro- Latin teacher Candice Potts, La Diosa seeks to spread the freedom, love, and joy of Afro-Latin dancing to as many people as humanly possible. Beginner Salsa 4-Week Course Level: Absolute Beginners - zero dance experience required

There is no doubt that Salsa is one of the most fun, social, and rewarding dances you can learn. This laid-back 4-week course will get you in the zone and and dancing from the very first lesson! There is no need to bring a partner for this course, but it is recommended—simply to help us keep an equal ratio of leads to follows. So if you’re interested but alone, don’t be shy to ask a friend! We’ll also cover proper social dancing etiquette and ensure that you get the chance to make a recording of whatever you learn on the night, giving you the confidence to practise at home and get social dancing straight away.

The Salsa bug has bitten! You have just completed your 4-week beginners’ course and now you are ready to level up. This course introduces new variations to the moves you already know and teaches new techniques that will make you into a more versatile all round dancer. As with the beginners’ course, participants are encouraged to record a video of everything they learn on the night.

Drop-in Partnerwork Classes Level: Improver, Intermediate, and Advanced

These drop-in classes offer a fun, ongoing means for leads to broaden their repertoire of dance patterns, and for follows to gain confidence and styling options to add to their dance style. Because our drop-in partnerwork classes are designed to cater equally for leads and follows, they ordinarily feature both a lead and follow teacher. Each level contains specific concepts and moves that are around a constantly evolving set of tight 8-count turn patterns. Even though our drop-in classes do not follow a linear progressive format, it is advisable to block off some time to attend a number of consecutive weeks as this helps to build momentum and fast-track your progress.

The 3 Pillars of Salsa Partnerwork Bootcamp (3.5 hours) Level: Novice to Intermediate

Salsa is actually quite simple. Once you begin to understand the language of the dance, beginning with the basic grammar, you can spontaneously create your own patterns—even if you are a rank beginner. Improving your vocabulary comes later. The problem with many dance classes is that they dive straight into teaching you complicated dance vocabulary, normally in the form of fixed 8- or 16-count turning patterns, without first teaching you the building blocks for how to string “grammatically correct” sequences together. Leaving fixed turning patterns behind, this course breaks down salsa into three fundamental pillars that will not only make you understand the mechanics of salsa, but will immediately help to improve your dance fluency.

Private lessons are the best way to receive individual dance instruction that will turbo boost your dance vocabulary, styling, and execution - as well as making sure that your basics remain on point. Private lessons are conducted one-on-one (or with a partner) and are specifically customized for the dancer. Together, we work to identify your goals and personalize your dance journey.We teach partner dancing in Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba, plus Lady styling, body movement, turns and spins and other elements of Salsa.

Please note that in the rare event that a class is cancelled, students will be able to attend the same class at a later date or transfer their credit to another dance product of their choice.
