Originally from the suburbs of Washington D.C., JENNA BEARDSLEY (they/ them), datascape: castle of dreams, is a movement and multimedia artist currently based in Richmond, Virginia. Jenna graduated with honors in May 2020, holding a Bachelors degree of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Jenna has studied from artists such as Scott Putman, Johnnie Cruise Mercer, Kristopher K.Q. Pourzal, Sidra Bell, and Trebien Pollard. While at VCU, Jenna had a multitude of performance opportunities, most notably a solo work by Eric Rivera which led to performances at the EDanco dance festival hosted annually in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Jenna draws on experimental influences from all spheres of art, music, fashion, philosophy, culture, and personal experience to create work that is investigative, curious, and referential. Through practices of time mapping, recontextualization, coding, and distortion, Jenna utilizes playfulness and surrealism to bring people together into inquisitive, fantastical spaces that invite community, questioning, and ecstasy. TAYLOR BONADIES (she/they), datascape: castle of dreams, is a movement and video artist, choreographer, and teacher originally from Portsmouth, VA. Following her attendance of the Governer’s School for the Arts, she graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Dance and Choreography. While in school, Taylor had opportunities to perform a variety of works and study under artists such as Helen Simoneau, Scott Putman, and Autumn Proctor Waddell. Taylor is currently a part-time instructor at GSA and producing video work in the Richmond area with collaborators Jenna Beardsley and Jelani Taylor.

AMANDA HAMELINE (she/her), Housefriend, is a choreographer, performer, producer, and co-founder of the interdisciplinary production company Amanda + James. Amanda’s choreographic work has been presented at venues across New York City including CPR, National Sawdust, Dixon Place, Triskelion Arts, and Martha Graham Studio Theater; and in Berlin at Lake Studios. She has also created site-specific pieces for a variety of non-traditional performance spaces such as Christie’s New York, Pace Gallery, the Chelsea Hotel and the Moore Building (Miami). She, along with her production company Amanda + James, was recently awarded commissioning funds and a residency at the Pocantico Center to develop a new work centered around the music of Oliver Messiaen. Amanda graduated with an MFA in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College in 2020 and received a B.A. in American History and Literature from Harvard in 2012.

SYDNEY LEMELIN (she/her), That’s Cooked, was raised in upstate New York between the Mohawk river and a freeway. She escaped small-town Niskayuna for college-town College Park to study dance and information science at the University of Maryland. In 2019, she traveled to Melbourne, Australia where a chance encounter on a sidewalk landed her studying dance at the Victoria College for the Arts. She has enjoyed working with BANDportier, PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER, Mamela Nyamza, Heart Stück Bernie, Orange Grove Dance, and her peers Amber Lucia Chabus and Hana Huie. BRITTA JOY PETERSON (she/her), Creator and Co-Curator, is an award winning choreographer, collaborator and educator. Raised in the midwest, creatively pressure-cooked by the southwest, liberated by the pacific northwest, and cracked open by the wild west, BJP is now an east-coast creative based in Washington, DC. Recent creative work has been seen at the Sibu International Dance Festival—Sarawak, Malaysia, Performance Mix 33—New York City, NY, Arts and Society Conference—Paris, France, European Society for Literature, Science and the Arts—Basel, Switzerland. BJP’s research practice churns at the intersection of body, question, theory, relation and design. Current projects engage questions surrounding organs, organisms and organization (External Organ), fleshy bodies and social spheres (And Now, Hold Me), and attunement as a strategy towards transcendent communities (Frequencies). BJP is an Artist in Residence at Dance Place. BJP is an active educator, both in university and professional settings. Her university choreography has been selected multiple times for ACDA Gala Presentation, as well as for the ACDA National Conference. She teaches in the DMV at Dance Place, and offers workshops and masterclasses periodically. She holds her BA in Dance and Communications, magna cum laude, from Gustavus Adolphus College and her MFA in Dance, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University.

CANDACE SCARBOROUGH (she/her), Co-Curator, is a performer, choreographer, and teacher based in Baltimore, MD. She received a B.A. in Dance from the University of Maryland, College Park where she was a recipient of the Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship. She has performed with AndaryDance, Graham Brown, Denise Leitner, Ashley Thorndike-Youssef, maree remalia- merrygogo, Helen Simoneau Danse, PearsonWidrig DanceTheater, and Orange Grove Dance. Candace is currently dancing for Kendra Portier, Tariq O’Meally, and Robert Priore. In 2016, Candace was invited by Ohad Naharin to start the Gaga teacher training program in Israel, and was certified as a Gaga teacher in 2017 under the artistic direction of Bosmat Nossan. She has taught Gaga classes extensively in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas, London, Manchester, Tel Aviv, Toronto, and Atlanta. Candace’s choreography has been presented at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, The Clarice, Dance Exchange, Joe’s Movement Emporium, and Baltimore Theater Project, in addition to Highways Performance Space with Los Angeles-based performance artist Samantha Mohr. In 2019, she received a Rubys Artist Grant to create velvet pony, in collaboration with Samantha Mohr and Philadelphia-based musician Liz DeLise.

MARRA SHERRIER (she/her), datascape: castle of dreams, is an artist and designer currently based in Takoma Park, MD. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2018 with a degree in Industrial Design, and since then has been enjoying design in digital and physical realms, for work and for pleasure. Some of her artistic practices include photography, screen printing, graphic design, and the occasional dancing. ZOE WAMPLER (she/her), RE:fore, is a Movement Artist, Teacher, and Arts Administrator based in the DMV. She received her BFA in Dance & Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019 and currently resides in Washington, DC. Zoe has had the pleasure of performing with Snap Soup Dance, Choreographers Collaboration Project, Extreme Lengths Productions, and Britta Joy Peterson. Her creative work has been presented at ACDA Mid-Atlantic South Gala (Raleigh, NC), Hind Gallery (Richmond, VA), Ascending Choreographers Showcase (Edgewood, MD), Koresh Artist Showcase (Philadelphia, PA), and Dusklit Interactive Art Festival (Sugarloaf, NY). She is a Teaching Artist with Tippi Toes© DC and Jane Franklin Dance.

OLIVIA WEBER (she/her), Associate Producer, is a DC-based creative innovator, researcher, and producer. Olivia’s work has been presented through the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center (Washington, DC) and University of Maryland (College Park, MD) with funding from the AU Center for Innovation’s Entrepreneurship Incubator and Eagle Endowment Fund. Her current research investigates how sustainable digital infrastructure can be leveraged to radicalize resources in the arts. Olivia is the Founder of Dancespace, a digital platform connecting dance professionals with workspace, and the Associate Producer of Britta Joy Peterson, a DC-based choreographer and 2020-2022 Artist in Residence at Dance Place. During the hours of 9am-5pm, Olivia is a Cloud Strategist at Amazon Web Services. She holds a BS in Business Administration (Honors), with a specialization in Digital Innovation, and Dance, summa cum laude, from American University. @oliviajweber

JACE WEYANT (they/them), Housefriend, is a performance and video artist based in New York City. They studied dance in high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and they currently study mathematics and dance at Sarah Lawrence College. They have been recognized as a Youngarts Finalist in choreography and a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Jace has been working with Amanda Hameline for the past few years making both live and video performances.

TTENDO WILLIAMS (he/him), datascape: castle of dreams, is a second year student at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Dance and Choreography. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, his dance training began three years ago near the end of high school. While attending VCU, he has been able to be a part of two senior projects and a few student productions. Ttendo also had the opportunity to perform at the Kennedy Center with Sinclair Dance. He hopes to continue learning and developing his own artistic voice to soon create his own works.

ROBERT WOOFTER (BAMBI WARHOL) (he/him), #internetprincess , is a control freak, sporadic drag queen, and founder of haus of bambi (hausofbambi.com). His work has been commissioned for Vogue.com and the Kennedy Center and has been presented in New York City at the wild project, Movement Research at Judson Church, Dixon Place, and Triskelion Arts. Robert is interested in the juxtapositions of the gaudy and subdued, the crude and refined, and the classical and contemporary as he lives by the motto “extravagance is a virtue.” Robert teaches at American University and Dance Place in Washington, DC.
