Robert D. Bennett Appointed as Interim Executive Officer For The Mocksville Police Department
Robert D. Bennett, former police chief of Spencer, North Carolina, and Tryon, North Carolina, has been appointed to serve as the temporary interim executive officer of the Mocksville Police Department by Interim Town Manager Lynn Trivette. Bennett brings an abundance of experience having served in the Statesville Police Department for 18 years, Spencer Police Chief for 8 years, and Tryon Police Chief for 3 ½ years. Bennett has a BS Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an Associate of Arts Degree in Social Science from Brevard College. Bennett is third-generation law enforcement and brings a wealth of experience from all facets of law enforcement.
“Along with his extended 30 years police career, Interim Executive Officer Bennett brings a poised attitude, progressive leadership style, and a community approach with him to Mocksville,” said Trivette, speaking on behalf of the Mocksville Police Department. “The staff can expect a smooth transition.”
Bennett is excited about the appointment.
“I am extremely honored for the opportunity to serve as the interim executive officer for the Mocksville Police Department,” he said. “I will work hard with the community and our leaders to keep Mocksville moving in a positive direction.”
Interim Executive Officer Bennett’s first day of employment is Thursday, March 11, 2021.
