NOTICE for passengers travelling through Hungary Hungarian authorities pay special attention to reducing border wait times for transit traffic in the summer tourism-season every year. According to experiences of the past few years, the majority of the passengers choose border crossing points lying on main traffic routes. As the result , traffic exceeds the normal capacity of the border-crossing point, while other border stations - lying just a few kilometres away – operate with far less passengers. We call the attention of passengers to the fact that even in spite of the best endeavours of the Hungarian authorities, waiting times may increase to several hours at the border crossing points. In these circumstances, the Hungarian police are entitled to direct some of the travellers to other border crossing points. The summer heat can make waiting at the border crossing points very exhausting, that’s why we suggest that travellers should be supplied with enough drinks. In order to avoid traffic jams at the border crossing points, we suggest taking the following alternative routes. For passengers travelling in the direction of Serbia At the Hungarian-Serbian border, we suggest choosing the following border crossing points instead of the Röszke - Horgoš station. 1.
