The Romantic GUIDED WINE, FARMSN AND LIPIZZANERS TRIPS inVojvodina 2 days / 1 night FIRST DAY: Belgrade - Palić - Subotica 199 km Departure from Belgrade at 08:00 am, and from Novi Sad at 09:30 am from the parking lot in front of the Sajam Hotel. Arriving at Lake Palić where we will make a short sightseeing tour at this favorite picnic spot for many of Vojvodinians. Free time for lunch. After this rest, we go to DiBonis winery, featuring splendid nature combined with modern technology. Although the Palić wine region is known for the white grape varieties, red varieties are cultivated in DiBonis vineyards too. Wine tasting in the rustic cellar, with wine vault for storage. We arrive in the center of Subotica, a city of unique architecture. We called it the Pannonian Barcelona because of its Secession style, used by Gaudi al- most at the same peropd to build monumental buildings in Barcelona. Accommodation at the Gallery Hotel, which is rightfully the best spa hotel in Vojvodina. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay. DAY TWO: Subotica - Kelebija - Backa Topola - Belgrade 209 km After breakfast, a tour of cultural and historic sites: The Town Hall, muse- ums, the Theater, the library, the Reichl Palace with ceramic decorations, the fountain ... Then, departure to Kelebia. Visit to the largest Lipizzaner horse farm in our country. The tour guide will show you the interesting features of the farm, such as: the stable, the museum with work and ceremonial equipment and a collection of more than 20 carriages, eq- uipage, two-wheeled cart and horse drawn sleigh. After this break, we will go to Zvonko Bogdan Winery, located in the traditional wine region, extending between Palić and Ludaš lakes. The story of this winemaker begins with quality, fi rst of all in the selection of the best locations for vineyards, cutting edge winery equipment and impressive building in the traditional style characteristic of the architecture of Palić. Visit to the vineyards, winery and barrique cellar with tasting of three types of wine. We continue our journey to Bačka Topola where we will visit the Capriolo farm - restaurant. This grange farm is a unique combination of modern and traditional. In the immediate vicinity is Brindza winery, which we visit next. There we will taste wine that has been awarded with numer- ous medals and accolades. Except for the wine, we will enjoy here in the beautiful natural surroundings. We return to Novi Sad and Belgrade when we feel it is time to leave. Arriving in the evening. KovačicaThe – Idvor – Carska Great bara – Belo blato – Ečka Vojvodina Tour Departure from Belgrade. Journey to Kovačica. Visit to the Association of Women from Kovačica where we will be greeted by the representatives of the association and shown presentation of their handicrafts with, of course, the option to purchase some pieces. Then follows a visit to an art workshop for the production of violins and the Naive Art Gallery. We will also visit the Martin Jonas Museum. Martin Jonas is one of the most important authors in the world of naive painting and the leading naive painter and one of the founders of the Naive Art Gallery in Kovačica. Departure to Idvor. Idvor is the birthplace of the famous Serbian scientist, Mihajlo Pupin. Here we will visit the museum dedicated to Pupin and his home. Next stop is the nearby “Banat Grange Farm” for lunch break with specialties of the local cuisine. We continue to the Carska Bara, a special nature reserve, a habitat of a large number of diff erent birds, among which eight species of herons, white-tailed eagle, bee-eaters... there we will hear a story about the natural wealth of the reserve and walk through the beautiful environment. Optional boat ride through the reservation. Next comes the visit to the most multicultural village in Vojvodina - Belo Blato. Over twenty nationalities live in this village, and the most numerous are the Slovaks, Hungarians, Bulgarian Catholics and Serbs. Lunch at the farm with a mini zoo with some indigenous varieties of domestic animals. We will visit cane manufacture facility with a mill and windmill from the 19th century and learn about the production of cane products. We continue the journey to the castle in Ečka. This castle was built by the Lukač family. Today this building is a hotel, a real oasis for the accidental traveler. Accommodation at the castle. Overnight stay. DAY 2. Ečka – Zrenjanin – Fantast – Zobnatica – Palić – Subotica Breakfast and departure to Zrenjanin. Walk in one of the most beautiful cities in Vojvodina, followed by a visit to Fantast castle, not far from Bečej. Fantast is the most famous castle of the Serbian land owner Bogdan Duđerski. This is also one of the most famous Serbian horse farms, and we will also visit a small church that was decorated by the famous painter Uroš Predić. After that, we go to the regional park of protected nature reserve and Zobnatica horse farm. In this true oasis of nature you will enjoy a carriage ride, horseback riding, a horse farming museum, a gallery. We continue the journey to Palić, a famous resort and spa with its lake and hotel buildings and villas in the style of Secession. In this pleasant environment, we will have some coff ee or tea. Lunch will be served on the lake shore, in the Small Inn (Mala Gostiona) or at one of the nearby grange farms. We will enjoy the specialties of this region, a mixture of Serbian, Hungarian and Bunjevac cuisine. After lunch, departure to Subotica. Accommodation at the hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 3. Subotica – Donji Tavankut – Sombor – Bač – Novi Sad After breakfast we take a light stroll through the city center on the tour of the City Hall, the synagogue, the Reichl Palace, today the Gallery of Modern Art. We depart for Donji Tavankut, a village with the majority Bunjevci population. In addition to the production of fruit and crops, the brand of this village are pictures of straw, which are made by women from this village using a unique technique. In this village we will hear their local dialect, and see the many Bunjevac folk creations - clothes, songs, stories, folk dance, and folk customs. We then we go to Bezdan with a stopover at one of the Sombor grange farms where we will taste several types of homemade brandy, such as mulberry brandy. Arrival to Bezdan. We will be greeted at the ethno house with old household and outhouse items of this part of Serbia. We will visit the weaving workshop where you will see 18 large wooden looms where handmade craft items are made in superior quality, in the same way as over a century ago. Visit to the museum of underwater concreting. Lunch at one of the csarda taverns with a real Vojvodina goulash. After Bezdan, the road leads us to Bač and its medieval fortress. The fortress is located on a small hill above the city and was surrounded on all sides by water, i.e. the Mostonga, the river bed is still visible today. Bač Fortress is one of the most striking pieces of evidence of the rich historical past of the municipality of Bač and is undoubtedly an extremely valuable medieval monument. The road ends in the beautiful city of Novi Sad. Accommodation at the hotel. Overnight stay. DAY 4. Novi Sad – Karlovci – Krušedol - Slankamen – Belgrade After breakfast, tour of the center of Novi Sad. Walking tour - sightseeing of the city center and main points of interest: the Liberty Square, the Name of Mary Catholic Church (always shown on the postcards of the city), the City Hall, Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street, the Bishop’s Palace and the Cathedral Church. Arrival at Petrovaradin Fortress, the symbol of Novi Sad, its position on the rock above the river earned it the popular name of “Gibraltar on the Danube”. Arrival in Sremski Karlovci - the center of Serbian education, spirituality and culture in the 18th and 19th centuries. Tour of the most important cultural and historical sights of Sremski Karlovci (the Cathedral Church, the Karlovci Gymnasium, the Bogoslovija seminary, the Four Lions Fountain, the Patriarch Palace). Following is the visit to some of the wine cellars in Sremski Karlovci and an opportunity to taste the famous Karlovci bermet and other Fruška Gora wine with an interesting story about wines and wine production. Next we visit the Krushedol Monastery - the most important monastery of Fruska Gora, founded by Bishop Maksim (Đorđe Branković) with his mother Angelina, both from the last ruling family of medieval Serbia. The monastery church is dedicated to the Annunciation and is richly painted - the oldest frescoes are from the middle of the 16th century and there are also valuable Baroque wall paintings. The members of the Branković family, King Milan Obrenović, Princess Ljubica, Arsenije III Čarnojević, Arsenije IV Jovanović - Šakabenta and Duke Stevan Šupljikac are buried in the monastery yard. The road leads us to Stari Slankamen, in the middle of the vast fi elds there is a monument to the Battle of Slankamen from 1691, in which the Habsburgs defeated the Ottomans, and the remains of the Roman Fort of Acuminicum, with an unforgettable view of the Danube.
