6. RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests lie in the broad area of distributed systems including web based systems. More specifically I am interested in two areas namely (1) highly available and scalable distributed systems and algorithms (including specification, design and implementation) and (2) distributed Objects and Object- Oriented Middleware. My research interests are motivated by the need to address the performance related challenges that arise in large scale distributed systems in the implementation and design of highly scalable services, especially web services. My PhD research interest is focusing on the Grid as the next generation distributed systems platform. My research is on middleware support for QoS provisioning (performance and reliability QoS) for web services on the Grid.
