CAUTION / VERSIGTIG WARNINGS:  Store in a cool dry place away from food, feeds, seed and other agricultural remedies.  Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of weeds against the remedy concerned, as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment, or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty.

PRECAUTIONS:  Avoid inhalation of spray mist.  In case of skin contact wash thoroughly with soap and water.  Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing or applying.  Prevent spray drift onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and any area not under treatment.  Thoroughly wash and rinse spray equipment after use and dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers and dams.  To lessen the risk of contaminating water supplies, the following additional precautions must be strictly adhered to:  Do not mix and load within at least 15 m from boreholes, streams, rivers and dams.  Do not apply within at least 15 m from boreholes, streams and rivers.  Do not apply within at least 60 m from dams.  Ensure that no back-siphoning to boreholes or dams takes place when SIMAZINE 500 SC is applied through the irrigation system.  Destroy empty container by perforation and flattening and never use for any other purpose.  TRIPLE RINSE empty containers in the following manner. Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner.  Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils.

RESISTANCE WARNING: SIMAZINE 500 SC/RSA/JUL19/REV2_E 2 SIMAZINE 500 SC is a group code C1 (triazine) herbicide. Any weed population may contain individual weeds naturally resistant to SIMAZINE 500 SC and other group code C1 . Resistance of Amaranthus hybridus to the chemical family of triazines has been observed in South Africa. If a triazine treatment has been ineffective in the control of the above-mentioned weed, do not re-treat with a herbicide from the same chemical group. Resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. Resistant weeds may not be controlled by SIMAZINE 500 SC or any other group code C1 herbicides In order to delay herbicide resistance: • Avoid the exclusive and repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide group code. • Alternate or tank mix with products from different herbicide group codes. • Integrate chemical and cultural control methods into weed control programmes

For specific information on resistance management contact you local distributor.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED

CONVENTIONAL APPLICATION: SIMAZINE 500 SC can be applied with any medium-or high volume sprayer with sufficient agitation. Accurately calibrate spray equipment prior to application. Use fan type nozzles to ensure a uniform coverage at a pressure of 200 to 300 kPa. Half fill the spray tank with water. Mix the required quantity of SIMAZINE 500 SC with a small amount of clean water to form a smooth slurry then pour into the tank through a 50 mesh sieve. Top spray-tank up with water and keep the chemical in continuous suspension by means of proper agitation. After each day’s spraying, flush the tank out thoroughly with water. SIMAZINE 500 SCis absorbed by the roots of the weed seedlings and not through the leaves. It must, therefore, be applied to bare ground free of clods and vegetative material. Where SIMAZINE 500 SC is applied to established weeds, it must either be preceded by - or tank mixed with an appropriate registered post-emergence contact herbicide to kill the existing weeds (see below). NOTE: For optimal weed control it is essential that the application should be followed by rain or irrigation within 10 to 14 days after application. Use 200 to 750 litre water per sprayed hectare for overall application.

APPLICATION THROUGH SPRINKLERS: SIMAZINE 500 SC can be applied through overhead irrigation systems. Contact the supplier or the distributors representative for details regarding the dosage rates and method.
