Why Skidmore? Let students tell you in their own words: SKIDMO.RE/WHY

4 5 A POWERFUL CURRICULUM Study what speaks to you.

No matter what discipline you pursue, you’ll look at it from every angle, connecting different modes of thinking and seemingly unrelated ideas. Choose a major or majors, combine interests or forge your own path altogether.

“Skidmore has allowed me to pursue and dance, where most other colleges would have forced me to choose between my two passions. I was also able to study abroad during my first year — a dream of mine — thanks to the London First-Year Experience. Skidmore truly has encouraged me to do it all!” — KATIE YAN ’22 Biology and Mathematics

6 Dive deeper into our majors and minors: SKIDMORE.EDU/CURRICULUM

7 Open yourself up to new possibilities.

A lot happens between your first day and graduation, which is why we encourage you to explore different courses and disciplines. You will have time to choose a major or two, add a minor or craft an academic path that works for you. Just know that whatever it is, we’ll work with you to make sure it’s authentic to you and practical for the professional world.

18 If there’s one thing that Skidmore students share, it’s the ability to bring creative thought to life in their own individual ways. Some bring this ability with them, and some discover it while they’re here. Either way, an appreciation for creative thought helps you develop a distinctive sense of self. You decide who you want to be — then go for it.

I want to be ugly. I want to be bad and I want to be good. I want to be able to transform as I transform in my life.” Photo: Kevork Djansezian/NBC

Today, the playful upscale brand is among the most popular in the country. The brothers’ unique business model eschews traditional marketing and distribution methods, which may explain why Vineyard Vines has thrived while much of the retail industry has been in chaos. Murray, whose goal has always been to be “a cross between Warren Buffett and Jimmy Buffett,” concurs, arguing that what’s happening in retail now is not about evolution. “It’s a revolution.”
