Bowers Academy

With a concentrated focus on individualized education, Bowers Academy serves the unique purpose of giving students who are struggling in larger educational institutions a chance to take responsibility for their education.

The academic structure at Bowers Academy is focused on the individuality of each student. Teachers, counselors and support staff work together to create a curriculum and an environment where a student can succeed when he/she takes ownership of their learning.

But individualized academics are only one special part of the education. At Bowers Academy relationships are also the backbone of what make this school unique. With sound relationships established and a curriculum adjusted to their individual learning styles, students at Bowers Academy begin a transformation that serves them the rest of their lives.

For more information regarding Bowers Academy or our enrollment process, please call us at 248.341.5985. Bowers Academy - About

Personalized Bowers Academy provides individual attention, supervision, and potential mentoring experiences. Personalized attention allows the faculty to assist students in following their own developmental path, balancing the needs to challenge students without overwhelming them.

Core Beliefs • Relationships are primary, particularly in this setting. Staff are sensitive to power struggles that impede the formation of positive relationships. • Student choice facilitates engagement and offers a sense of power to students. • All students learn at different rates. Bowers Academy offers an alternative setting to structure the delivery of curriculum around this concept. • The delivery of our curriculum must offer a significant departure from what students have already experienced and failed. • Bowers Academy strives to create a safe environment for students to make choices and establish independence. • A low student to teacher ratio is maintained.

Engaging Students can enroll in Bowers Academy from one semester to three years, selecting from engaging, innovative class offerings. We emphasize hands-on learning and provide a customized education that engages students in productive classroom work.
