Perivale Ward Forum meeting – held on Thursday 18th June, 7.00pm at Perivale Community Centre, Perivale

Present: Councillors Pile (CP) (Chair), Yeo (EY) and Allott. (PA)

 There are far too may issues that hinder the police from enforcing the law properly. The police are inconveniently located at Hanger Lane; every other shop has a license to sell alcohol; the SNT has no cover when they are on a rest day

 I came home from a holiday to discover that a man had broken into my home and was squatting on my property. The SNT were very helpful, however, he has now broken into the property across the road, at which he now squats in. Seeing him on a daily basis, after having gone to court to testify against him, which led to his conviction, is very worrying.

 Why are businesses not being invited to the meeting? Some of the questions raised, are not added to the meetings notes, can this be rectified? Can we get to participate in setting the agenda? (CP) Councillors give everyone the opportunity to say what they need to raise, and we encourage you to take part in setting the agenda. If there is a particular topic you would like to add to the next agenda, we are happy to oblige.

 Notes of the January meeting indicate that a mobile CCTV has been allocated to the ward, is this already existing camera or did the ward forum recommend the purchase of a camera? Were the police consulted? (CP)The ward forum purchased that particular CCTV unit, the deployment of the camera is decided on by the ward forum and consultation with parties such as the police

# Note Action Point/Residents Questions 7 Ward Forum Spend 09/10

Cllr Pile requested all attendees to voice their 1. The council is playing catch up with its road improvements, which we are committed to completing. 3. Gating programmes along Bilton Road (CP) As part of the £200k town centre regeneration programme, alleyways stretching behind the commercial part of Bilton Road will be gated. Monies will also be spent to improve the shopping experience at Medway Estate and highway improvements will be made to make the town centre more accessible 4. Set up a club for 8-11 year olds, within a venue which will host the club twice a week with the assistance of Perivales Residents Association - £5k is required (SC) Significant investigation and research has gone into this bid, please consider 5. More cycle paths for young people to use Local community party, similar to that in Pitzhanger Lane, such as a summer fete, to encourage community cohesion and introduce greater community contact. 8 Public Forum  No Entry roads at Federal road is abused, motorists drive very fast along this stretch of the road, can a camera be installed to fine them  Enforce against illegal parking at Medway Parade  Tescos at the junction to Rydales Crescent is popular with people consuming fast food and dumping their rubbish / drug users  At Brooklands Drive and Bilton Road, the drains are overflowing and need cleaning.  At Perimead Road motorists are cutting through to get to the A40, young people cannot cross this road safely  Bilton Roads carriageway needs essential resurfacing

 St John Fisher School is suffering from parking problems; mums are parking in the middle of the road. The school has contacted Cllrsabout the traffic concerns on Wadsworth road and Aintree Road, a pedestrian crossing is needed (PA) The Council would like to work closely with local schools to make improvements to the roads to ensure the safety of young people. I will be meeting with parents and guardians on 3rd July to discuss and coordinate a plan /resolution to encourage people to walk some of the main routes
