Show Synopsis Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other’s lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, , hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

He found his for acting while in Jr. High and High School, landing such roles as Curly in Oklahoma! and Harold Hill in The Music Man. He went on to pursue his study of acting. Stage credits include Lord Goring in An Ideal Husband, Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing and several other Indie stage productions. While in college he worked as a counselor at several youth camps including Kanakuk and Forest Home where he then knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life working with students.

Soon after graduating, he began directing children and young adults in the Houston area and is thrilled to continue his love for teaching, directing and mentoring here in the Dallas area, as a Senior Resident Director for NTPA. Some of his favorite works as a Director are Seussical JR, Puffs and : School Edition. Denver was named NTPA Director of the Year for 2019. Program Director: Hannah Makepeace Hannah earned her BFA in from Ouachita Baptist University. She grew up training in many forms of dance and getting involved in every performance opportunity she could. Hannah participated in competitive dance until the age of 12, where she became a full-time ballerina as a member of the pre-professional ballet company Arkansas Festival Ballet. She also directed and performed in an improv troupe called Off the Top, which traveled the state of Arkansas. At her university, she had the opportunity to perform, write, design and direct for several opportunities, culminating in the opportunity to direct a MainStage production that she developed. Following graduation, she moved to Orlando, where she worked and performed at Walt Disney World before moving to the Dallas Area! Some of her favorite directing credits include Not a Clue, Wanda’s Visit, Junie B. Jones and Kids. She also has choreographed for many NTPA productions, some of her favorites including Jr, Hello Dolly, on this Island, Beauty and the Beast and Matilda. Hannah has a true passion for the theatrical arts, and loves being able to see the students she works with grow in their skills and challenge themselves to be daring in their pursuits. She loves her husband Andrew, her two , her friends, family, and NTPA family so dearly, and is thankful for all of their support and encouragement. Bring a Buddy Discount! Credits can be used toward any future class, camp or production. 10 Cast Biographies Elizabeth Bennett is 11 years old and in the 6th grade. This is her first NTPA production. She is really excited to get to be in Matilda and meet new people. Previously she has performed with Linden Grove Theater Company and Read Play Love. When she isn’t acting she likes to shoot archery, swim, ride her bicycle, and play the ukulele. She is active in Scouts BSA and 4-H.

Abby Berbarie (Amanda) is 11 years old and in the 6th grade. She loves NTPA and Mr. Denver! This is her sixth major production. Her favorite roles have been playing Lucy in A Charlie Brown Christmas, Spider in James and the Giant Peach and Oaken in Frozen. Abby loves riding the scariest roller coasters at Six Flags, driving around looking for bunnies in her golf cart, and spending time with her family, friends and pets – Rosie, Penelope, Howie and Monkey (the hamster)!

Cameron Brown (Miss Agatha Trunchbull) is 16 and is in 10th grade at Lebanon Trail High School. This is his 38th NTPA production. He has played a variety of roles including Jack Kelly (Newsies), Lord Farquaad (Shrek), Jimmy Smith (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Romeo Montague (Romeo and Juliet), Conrad Birdie (Bye Bye Birdie), Rum Tum Tugger (CATS), and William Barfée (Spelling Bee). He thanks Denver, Hayley, Valerie, and his family for this opportunity.

Olivia Castro (Big kid) is a student at Prosper ISD. She has been in 9 NTPA productions. Her favorite shows she has been in is Les Miserable and Putnam county spelling bee! In her free time she likes, hanging out with friends, watching and baking! She would like to thank Mr. Denver for this opportunity to be in this show!

Megan Conway (Miss Honey) is a junior at Allen. This is her 13th production at NTPA, and her favorite roles include; Susie (Puffs), Kira (Xanadu), and Millie (Thoroughly Modern Millie). She loves to sing in choir and write for a Christian theology blog. Megan is overjoyed to be a part of this empowering and touching musical, and is so blessed to play the heartwarming role of Miss Honey. Always remember that even the simplest of things full of love is all you really need.

Sydney Cram is 11 years old and loves her first year in middle school. She is excited to be in Matilda, her second NTPA production! After completing Annie this summer, she was hooked on NTPA. Sydney loves to sing and perform to crowds of people, large and small. She would like to thank her awesome NTPA family, her singing teachers for helping gain confidence, her friends and family for making her laugh, and her parents for always encouraging and supporting her!

11 Cast Biographies Sofia Cross (Mrs. Wormwood)Sofia is a senior at Legacy Christian Academy, this is her tenth production with NTPA, but her twentieth production overall. A few of her favorite roles have been Daniela in In the Heights, Sour Kangaroo in Seussical, and Marmee March in Little Women. Outside of theatre, Sofia enjoys interning for the Klife ministry, and being a communications intern for her school. She would like to thank Mr. Denver for the opportunity to be in this production, and her friends and family for always supporting her.

Kate Dawson (Hortencia) is in 7th grade. This is her 10th major production with NTPA. Her favorite roles were the Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical Kids & Simba in Lion King Kids! When she is not on the stage, she enjoys art, singing and hanging out with friends. She would like to thank her friends and family for all of the love and support, and Mr. Denver for this amazing opportunity! Esther 4:14

Micah Domen (Bruce/ Tommy) is 12 years old. This is Micah’s 16th role with NTPA. Micah loves any role, big or small! Some of her favorites include Miss Hannigan (Annie Jr.), Spiker (James and the Giant Peach Jr.) and Young Elsa (Frozen Jr.) She is happiest when she is on stage and spending time with her friends. Micah wants to thank her family and all her friends for their support and Mr. Denver for the opportunity to play such an amazing role! Micah 6:8

Avery Dunn (Ms. Phelps/ Nurse) is 13 years old and an 8th grader at Pearson Middle School. This is Avery’s 22nd production with NTPA. Her favorite roles include Wednesday Addams (Addams Family), Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast) and Cowardly Lion (Wizard of Oz). Avery would like to thank her family and friends for their support and encouragement. And a big thank you to Mr. Denver for his guidance and enthusiasm in making this a great show!

Sean Forman (Mr. Wormwood/Michael Wormwood/Big Kid) is 13 and attends Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco. This is Sean’s 18th production with NTPA. Some of his favorite past roles include Gaston (Beauty and the Beast), Emmett (Legally Blonde), Hans (Frozen), Bert (), and Trevor Graydon (Millie). Some of Sean’s hobbies are reading, playing the piano, and drawing. Sean also plays football and runs track. Sean would like to thank Mr. Denver for a great first show with him!

DaMarion Gipson (Miss Trunchbull /Rudolpho) is 14 and in 8th Grade at Kingdom Collegiate Academies. This is DaMarion’s NTPA debut! He is excited to share his love for musical theatre with everyone and hopefully put a smile on someone’s face doing so. DaMarion would like to thank his Mom and Dad for believing in him and encouraging him to do what he loves to do.

12 Cast Biographies Ava Green (Nigel) is 13 years old and in the 8th grade. She goes to Cobb middle school, and loves doing theater in and out of school. This is her 12th show with NTPA. Some of her favorite roles include Mayzie in Seussical Jr, Socrates in Rapunzel, Rapunzel and Grace in Annie. Ava would like to thank Mr. Denver for this opportunity.

Maison Karins (Alice) is a 7th grader at Trent Middle School. This is her 12th major production with NTPA, 13th overall. Maison has enjoyed the roles of Annie (Annie Jr), Rapunzel (Rapunzel! Rapunzel!), and Cinderella (Cinderella Kids). She loves playing guitar, ventriloquism, being with friends, family and pets. Maison thanks Mr Denver for a great experience and her friends and family for their support. Matthew 5:16

Harry Lancaster (Cook, Henchmen, Big Kid) is 14 years old and thrilled to join the NTPA cast of Matilda. Harry previously played Mr. Sowerberry in Oliver! with NTPA and performed improvisational comedy in student showcases at Dallas Comedy House and Stomping Ground Comedy theaters. Harry’s many talents don’t end there, he is also a student at a school - 8th grade at Great Hearts Irving. Harry would like to thank his mom for her generous support of his artistic pursuits and for writing this bio for him.

Jaeda Lindstrom (Matilda) is an 11 year old 5th grader at Olson Elementary. Jaeda made her NTPA debut a year ago as the orphan Andrea in Annie Jr. She has also played the role of Iago in Aladdin Jr. This is Jaeda’s third play. She spent most of her childhood on a competitive gymnastics stage and has fallen in love with her new theatrical stage! When Jaeda is not on stage she loves to go to voice lessons with Ms. Troy and read lots of books! Jaeda would like to thank Mr. Denver for another fun experience.

Heather Martin (Acrobat/Big Kid/Henchman 4) is 13 years old and in 8th grade at Lucas Christian Academy. This is her 7th show at NTPA and her first at Frisco. Some of her favorite roles have been Jasmine (Aladdin), Bridget/welcoming committee (Emma), and Kate (Legally Blonde). When not on stage, Heather enjoys to hang out with friends, sing, dance, write songs, and be as dramatic as can be. Heather would like to thank both her parents and her best friend for encouraging her and her amazing directors and cast.

Makenzie Martin (Big Kid and Henchman 3) is 12 years old and in the 6th Grade at Cobb Middle School. This is her 3rd production with NTPA. This summer she enjoyed finally performing in Getting to Know Footloose and is excited to be in the energetic show Maltida. Makenzie loves to travel and hops on a plane anytime she can. When not traveling Makenzie loves dancing, spending time with friends, reading, and crafting. Her passion of theater has continued to grow, and she thanks all the supportive people in her life.

Georgia Mayfieldis 13 and in 7th grade. This is her 6th show and 4th show with Mr. Denver! She is so excited for this show and let me tell you, it’ll be great! Her role is one of the small kids Alice! In her free time she enjoys doing art, volleyball, and of baking! Her favorite roles include; Middle Elsa in Frozen Jr, Patty in Charlie Brown Christmas, and Alice in this show! She would like to thank her parents for making this happen!

Adrienne McConney recently relocated from Maryland, and is elated to play the role of Nigel! This is Adrienne’s first production at NTPA. She has participated in shows such as Alice in where she played The Queen of Hearts and Willy Wonka, but Matilda is one of her favorites. She enjoys playing soccer and singing whenever she gets the chance. She would like to thank her parents for being so supportive and Mr. Denver for giving her this opportunity.

Audrey McGaughey (Matilda) is in the 6th Grade at Celina Middle School and is performing in her 13th NTPA production. Favorite past roles include Annie in Annie Jr., and Junie B. in Junie B. Jones the Musical. Like Matilda, Audrey has been blessed with wonderful teachers (past and present!) and is thankful for their ongoing love and support! Audrey would also like to thank Mr. Denver for trusting her with this special role and pushing her to be her very best!

Hailey Osvatic (Escapologist/Father) is 15 years old and in 10th grade at Allen High School. This is her 20th production with NTPA. Her favorite roles include the Witch in Wizard of Oz, Queen of Hearts in Alice and Wonderland, Jr. and Ms. Andrews in Mary Poppins Jr. When not in theatre, she likes to hang out with friends and create art. She is a member of ACE. She would like to thank her family for their support and Mr. Denver for giving her this opportunity

Maddy Pardo(Mrs. Phelps) is so excited to be apart of this show! When she’s not doing theatre, she’s hanging out with her friends, playing ukulele, or playing with her dog. She would like to thank Mr. Denver for this opportunity and she is so excited!

Memphis Rakestraw (Amanda Thripp) is 11 years old and is in the 5th Grade at Bledsoe Elementary. She is so excited to be a part of the Matilda cast. She read the book as a young girl with her dad and twin sister, and has fond memories of the story, This is her first NTPA production. Memphis would like to thank her family for all their love and support.

14 Cast Biographies Bonnie Rembold ( Sergei) is 14 years old and in 9th grade. This is Bonnie’s 11th production. She loves her time in theatre an shad learned so much! Bonnie is thankful to Mr. Denver for this opportunity and for a fun and educational experience! She looks forward to more productions in the future!

Riley Samuel (Big Kid/Henchmen) is 16 years old and a junior at Wylie High School where he is in advanced theatre, The Blackbox. This is his 12th show at NTPA Fairview. Some favorite roles include Benedick (Much Ado About Nothing), Simba (Lion King), VP Panch (Spelling Bee), and Officer Barrel (). In his spare time he loves playing video games and being with his theatre friends. He would like to thank his first theater teacher Ms. Lawhon, his current theatre teacher Ms. Harrison, his mother and father, and Mr Denver for always encouraging him and trusting him to join this show last minute! “

Lauren Sharp (Lavender) is a 7th grader at Griffin MS, this is her 8th production with NTPA. Her favorite roles include Lady ZaZa in Rapunzel, Wilbur in Charlotte’s Web, and Ms. Hannigan in Annie Jr. When Lauren isn’t performing, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She’d like to thank Mr. Denver, the cast, and everyone who worked hard to put this show together. Most importantly, she’d like to thank her parents because she couldn’t have come so far without them.

Monica Weaver (Escapologist) is a 16 yr old sophomore at Allen High School and is a Denim ACE member with NTPA. She is excited to perform in Matilda, her 12th show with NTPA and 17th overall! She loves working with this incredible cast and is so proud of all their hard work on making this the best show ever. She’d like to thank Mr. Denver for his support and guidance.

Anastazia Yoch (Doctor/Children’s Entertainer) is 14 years old. She is an 8th grader at NTPA Academy. This is her sixth performance at NTPA. She has taken 7 years of dance. She has played Wednesday (Addam’s Family) and Ms. Meyers (Freaky Friday). Ana is so thankful for the loving environment and being able to bully children.

Mia Yoch (Lavender) is 12 years old. She is a 7th grader at Blue Ridge Middle School. This is her 2nd show with NTPA and 6th show overall. When she’s not doing musicals she is doing cheer, homework, or listening to other musicals. She is so excited to be in Matilda and was willing to move earth and sun to do it. Lavender is the perfect role for her and suits her so well. Spoiler alert, I will spoil it!
