“Big Bad “Big Bad Musical” will be presented this weekend in the Newark Middle School Auditorium. Musical” Directed by NMS Instrumental Music teacher Rebekah Valerio, the show will be at 7 p.m. March 23 and at 2 p.m. March 24. Chelsey Cook, a Participation in Government and Academic Intervention Services teacher at Newark High School, is the choreographer.

In the show, the jury, the audience, must decide the outcome of the biggest trial ever in the fairy-tale world! The notorious Big Bad (Ian MacTaggart) is being slapped with a class- action lawsuit by storybook characters who want to get even: Little Riding Hood (Samantha Cepulo); her Grandmother (Makalah Crawford); (Jasmine Biery, Shelby Cramer, Grace Kreuser); Bill Woodcutter (Isiah Jackson), and the Shepherd (Lauren Collins) who is in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf (Joel Fowler). With Sydney (Francesa Rosso) as the commentator, like on court TV, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest, the Evil Stepmother (Serena South) and the Fairy Godmother (Jillian Blodgett), clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after. Judge Wise Old Man (Jacob Lindberg) presides over the case and frequently offers his . . . ”wisdom.” Ms. Muffit (Lindsay Whiting), a neurotic psychiatrist and wolf expert adds more to the case; maybe even helping the wolf’s chances at an innocent verdict.

Even though the infamous Evil Stepmother resents doing pro-bono work on such an obviously futile defense, Mr. Wolf makes a good case for himself with back-up from his ‘posse’ the Wolfettes (Madison Chandler, Andrea Hoe, Mikayla Howard and Noelle Lyman). Was he born a criminal, or made one? Help the jury decide. Other cast _ gallery members _ are Allison Jensen and Alice Sierra- Rosario. Mimes are: Amanda Williams, Katyra Bryant and Faith Bornheimer. Stage crew members are: Laura VanAuken, Leah Hoyt, Courtney Caralla, Brianna DeMitry, Emma Semmler and Sierrah Marlow.

Tickets for the performances are $3.
