Celebration Cakes – a price guide
Prices are based on a serving size of approximately 1” x 2”. See the round cutting guides (available in the shop and coming soon to the website) for more guidance.
The base price is for a 10cm deep cake covered with buttercream and soft fondant icing. Rich fruit cakes are covered with marzipan and fondant icing. The cost includes simple decoration such as a spray of flowers or other items created from moulds, and a piped greeting.
Cakes are presented on a 12mm cake drum, the colour of your choice. Every cake is then packed in a food safe white transportation box.

Bespoke Cakes
We love to create individual cakes that reflect the recipient’s hobbies, interests and achievements. These take additional time to research and design, and a high level of skill to produce. This is reflected in the price but we hope you will agree with us that even though they may initially seem to be a lot of money they do represent excellent value. Especially when you see the look on the recipient’s face as they view their very special cake for the first time!
These prices can only be a guide as they will be dependent on the size and complexity of the models. They are however a useful starting point we hope.
Models of people: Sitting down from £12.00. Standing and engaged in some activity from £15.00
Small animals such as cats, dogs, jungle animals, teddy bears etc: from £8.00 Small items such as books, wine bottles etc from £1.50
Printed cake topper – a photo of your choice printed onto edible icing £5.00
Options
For a small supplement you may choose to have chocolate ganache in place of the buttercream. (up to 8” £5.00; 9” – 12” £8.00)
Stacked and Tiered Cakes
Cakes of two or more tiers are constructed from individual cakes on their own cake card, supported by interior dowels. There is an additional cost of £5.00 for stacking a two tier cake and £10.00 for a three tier cake.
Carved Cakes
At The Kitchen we make relatively few carved cakes. Although fun to make and a great challenge they are time consuming and can be wasteful, they therefore tend to be costly. We do however model handbags and cars on request, both of which start at £120.00
We can also offer a vintage teapot for £95.00
Contemporary Cakes
As well as the more traditional fondant covered cakes we offer a range of contemporary, colourful and alternative celebration cakes. For example:
Giant cupcake surrounded with chocolate curls and topped with swirls of buttercream £45.00
Rainbow cake – 5 x 6” layers or 4 x 8” layers. Filled with buttercream, surrounded by chocolate curls or fingers, piped swirls of buttercream on top and handmade sugar flowers or your choice of sprinkles/smarties/maltesers. £50.00
Cupcakes
Cupcakes from £2.00 (simple buttercream swirl). Flower decoration £2.50. Bespoke cupcakes price on request.
Fairy cakes from £1.50
Mini cakes from £1.00
We can print your photos or logos onto cupcake toppers for 50p per cake.

Smallish print
Each of our cakes is individually hand made with love using the best ingredients we can lay our hands on! Our butter, milk, cream, cheese, and free range eggs are delivered daily by Duncan from Whiteheath Farm. Lulu from Ndali supplies our amazing Fairtrade vanilla via the lovely Raj. We buy Fairtrade chocolate, cocoa, sugar and bananas. And of course we offer Fairtrade coffee in our shop and our cakes – Puro from Miko.
We are not the cheapest – but we believe we offer really good value for money. We are passionate about all that we do and our team of bakers and cake decorators take pride in every cake we produce. If you decide to order from us we require a 20% deposit to secure your booking with full payment on collection. Delivery can be arranged – ask for details and prices.
Cancellation
We appreciate that circumstances beyond your control can necessitate a change of plan or cancellation. Up until one week before your event we are happy to carry your deposit over to another order.
Cancellation in the week before your event is more difficult as work may have begun. Please speak to us to arrange the best way forward but in some instances up to the full price may be due.
