Organizing authority: Centro Vela Alto Lario, under authority of the Italian Sailing Association (FIV) and the International Nacra Class Association (INCA)

1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020. 1.2 The ‘Rules for Championships Sailing and Windsurfing and kiteboarding’ will apply. 1.3 The ‘Nacra Championship rules’ will apply. 1.4 The Sailing Instructions may contain minor changes to the Rules. 1.5 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence and therefore prevail.

2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3 ENTRY AND REGISTRATION 3.1 The regatta is open to all Nacra’s made and/or of the above mentioned classes. All Nacra’s must be sailed and presented legally by its owner, according to the Nacra class rules.

3.2 Entry has to be dealt with online: http://www.nacraracing.com/registration-nacra-lago-di-como/ Entry is valid when completely finished and paid by IDEAL or Creditcard.

3.3 Teams that have entered online can make registration locally at Gravedona Sunday August 12th 2018 11:00 – 18:00 hrs Monday August 13th 2018 08:30 – 10:00 hrs

4 FLEETS The following fleets will sail consisting of the following classes: 1st fleet: • Nacra 15 2nd fleet: • Nacra 16* • Nacra 17 C-boards / Full foiling according to rating* • Nacra 18 Infusion* • Nacra 20: Nacra 20 Carbon, Nacra 20fcs, Nacra 20evo according to rating* • Nacra Open Class: all other Nacra’s and non-standard rigged types * Each class will have it’s own fleet when with 6 or more competitors of the same class.

5 FEES 5.1 The entry fee is:

Before May 1st 2018 Two person boat €280 One person boat €180

After April 31st 2018 Two person boat €350 One person boat €220

30 days prior to event refunds will no longer be made as fees have than been paid to organizing authority.

5.2 Competitors shall be member of the International NACRA Class Association (INCA) and their national class association. There is a possibility to become a member of INCA at the registration desk. The annual membership fee is €15 per member.

6 SCHEDULE OF RACES AND EVENTS 6.1 RACING PROGRAM

6.2 SOCIAL PROGRAM

• Sunday August 12th 18:00 Opening ceremony & party • Friday August 17th Price giving ASAP after last race & dinner • Every day Pasta will be served right after racing for all competitors, coaches and family • More after sail party’s and event’s to be announced.

7 MEASUREMENT 7.1 During the regatta any boat and its equipment may be subject to examination at any time by technical officers.

8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The Sailing Instructions (S.I.) will be available at the Regatta Office at the registration and can be download from www.nacraracing.com digital notice board.

9 VENUE 9.1 The location of the racing areas is in front of Centro Vela Alto Lario Lake Como. See location details at the start of this NOR.

10 THE COURSES The courses will be will be up/downwind course racing. More detailed information can be found in the sailing instructions. A long distance race can and may be added to the program.

11 PENALTY SYSTEM 11.1 Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One- Turn Penalty, including a tack and a gibe.

12 SCORING 12.1 A boat’s score shall be calculated in accordance with RRS A2, except that:

a. When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. b. When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 12.2 At least 4 races are required to be complete and constitute a regatta.

13 SUPPORT BOATS Support boats shall be registered at the regatta office during the registration of the regatta. Please contact INCA representatives to register.

14 RADIO COMMUNICATION Except in an emergency a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

15 PRIZES Prices will be awarded to categories that have 6 boats or more. If a category fails to meet this criterium, this category automatically will take part in the “Open class”

• Helmsman and crew of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title "European Champion Nacra 18 Infusion". Second & third place will receive prices as well. • Helmsman and crew of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title " European Champion Nacra 20". Second & third place will receive prices as well. • Helmsman and crew of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title " European Champion Nacra 15". Second & third place will receive prices as well. • Helmsman and crew of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title "European Champion Nacra 16". Second & third place will receive prices as well. • Helmsman and crew of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title "European Nacra 17 (non professional) championships". Second & third place will receive prices as well. • Helmsman and crew of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title "Nacra Open class championships". Second & third place will receive prices as well. • Helmsman of the winning boat of the championship acquire the title "European Champion Nacra One-up". Second & third place will receive prices as well. Pricegiving Ceremony will be on Friday August 17th as soon as possible after the last races, in consideration with protest and jury duties, but no later than 19h00. Please keep informed via Nacra Racing Facebook, www.nacraracing.com or the notice board. Ceremony announcement will be made at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.

16 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. Racing rules of sailing, rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

17 INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of World €1.000.000 per event or the equivalent in other common accepted currency.

18 RIGHTS TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS By participating in the Nacra European Championship, Nacra Championships 2018, the competitor automatically grants the Organizing Authority, the organizers and the sponsors of the event the right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of the athlete during the period of the competition without compensation.

20 TRAILER PARKING, DOCKING AND CARS • Boats and trailers shall be parked near of the AVAL-CDV clubhouse by instructions of the regatta volunteers. There will be signage to the event on the main road (SS340, Via Regina & Via Alla Poncia) since this is the ONLY available route when having a trailer. • Coach and/or spectator ribs will be placed at a mooring (30 available) in front of the clubhouse. (At the club petrol is available) • Cars shall be parked in the designated parking areas. • No cars are allowed in the boat park. Please follow the instructions of the regatta volunteers at all times.
