Notice of Race for Steve Nicholson Memorial Trophy At Pitsford Reservoir on Saturday 26th January 2019

Competitors wishing to enter a class of boat not listed in Appendix SNT should please apply to [email protected] giving details of their proposed entry. If the race committee accept the class, it will be added to Appendix SNT and the prospective entrant will be notified by email. Please note any entry will still need to be made in the usual way and will be subject to the entry limit.

Advertising will be allowed in accordance with the Class Rules of the competing classes. The races will be governed by the Racing Rules of 2017 – 2020, the RYA prescriptions, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. If there is a conflict between this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions the Sailing Instructions take precedence.

Competitors should note that Northampton Sailing Club implements the RYA Racing Charter and that you will be required to undertake to in compliance with the Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book.

Conditions of Entry The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor racing the boat, who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise during the race. Neither the sailing instructions, nor the inspection of the boat limits or reduces the absolute responsibility of the owner/competitor for his/her crew his/her boat and the management thereof. The race organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury however caused to the owner/competitor, his skipper or crew as a result of their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/competitor warrants the suitability of his boat for the race or races and that the boat and helm have appropriate insurance cover for the event to Third Party of at least £3,000,000. Entries will close at midnight on Thursday January 24th at the latest or earlier if entry limits have been reached. (Please note your entry is only accepted once full payment has been received.)

ENTRY FEE £25 per boat - in aid of Asthma UK (National Asthma Campaign) - an option will be available on the websites to make an additional donation.

SCHEDULE OF RACES

Double Handers: 10:15 Briefing, 11:00 Race 1, lunch break, Race 2. Single Handers: 10:45 Briefing, 12:30 Race 1, lunch break, Race 2.

The scoring system will be as per Rule A2 Low points System with a tie-break as stated in Racing Rules Appendix.

The Event Sailing Instructions will be available on the Steve Nicholson Trophy website www.stevenicholsontrophy.co.uk/index.asp?selection=Documents please print a copy and bring it with you as copies will not be available on the day of the event, other than copies posted on the official notice board.

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS / VISITORS - Invasive Species Procedure. Before launching, all competitors are required to sign a declaration to confirm that – your boat has been ‘Checked, Cleaned and Dried’ for a minimum of two days prior to arriving at Northampton Sailing Club and that you will use our pressure washer system before leaving our site.

For your information

Camping and Campervan facilities, including toilets and showers, will be available and the cost is included in the entry fee. Access on Friday evening will be by way of a gate code which can be obtained from the club office during the week prior to the event. Please confirm a booking by contacting the club office. A galley service will available all-day including evening meal, Detail will be put on the entry website and Facebook nearer the time.
