Special Opportunities during Festival Education 1. Sign up to ride with Lendon Gray as an option during Festival, she will take 10 riders for this special Emerging Dressage Athlete Program. 2. D Camp during Festival Education: This camp is designed for the Club youth member up to the D-2 Level. They will ride twice a day and get to experience group instruction taught by a few of our very successful Graduate A Pony Club members and alumni. Good basic riding skills will be taught using a variety of methods such as playing games on horseback, learning how to ride in the open safely in a group, and working towards their next certificate will all be taught during the mounted instruction. Besides riding they will have un-mounted instruction in the barn and a chance to experience taking care of their pony while at the Kentucky Park. There will be limited number of slots for D Camp so make sure to register early. Registration will be online only beginning May 1, 2014. 3. Biomechanics and How it Relates to the Pyramid of Training Description: An easy to understand description of the parts of the horse and how they can function most efficiently to be able to handle the training needed to develop a stronger, more comfortable ride whether on the flat or over fences. The presentation will be given by Lois Yukins a USEF “S” Judge and an FEI 4* Judge. She grew up in Birmingham, Michigan with a background in Pony Club, Hunter/Jumper, and Dressage. She rode for the Bloomfield Open Hunt Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She now lives in Manchester-by-the-Sea in Massachusetts and has trained several and students throughout all levels. This Biomechanics workshop will only be held Saturday morning from 9-11:30 am at the Dressage Federation building on the Kentucky Horse Park grounds. 4.
