In fact, as I look at our A beautiful cover of Priscilla taken at Graceland, I have my Pandora station set to Elvis tunes and am rocking and rolling along as I type. To say Priscilla Presley is all shook up about the world of the Tennessee Walking Horse industry would be an understatement. weren’t familiar with the practice of soring that takes place within the Jan Westmark, Editor-In-Chief world of the Tennessee Walkers. Priscilla isn’t the only celebrity in this issue — jump to the last traveler, and her adventures recently took her to Santa Barbara, California, to play polo. She not only played, but was also part of Full House and I’m happy to see her enjoying life as an equestrian. As each month in Sidelines, and also on Facebook, Twitter and horse people, we understand the show world, but that’s one thing the Instagram. I follow her on Instagram and love living vicariously through her amazing experiences — from swimming horses in leaves changing in our feature on the Appalachian Therapeutic Riding Center, located at Bright’s Creek, in Mill Spring, North Carolina. I live nearby and can attest to the fact that the leaves are always impressive this time of year. Two young riders who are also impressive, and whose lives have changed recently, are Texas brothers Lucas and Wilton Porter. The siblings were gold medal Rider Championships and I think you’ll be inspired by their ride into history. As you enjoy riding in the beautiful fall weather, make sure to also ride along with Sidelines in both print and digital. The great thing about our digital edition — in addition to exclusive stories — is that you can pull it up on your phone or tablet while sitting on a tack trunk or while hacking on the trails. The Second Edition was published in 2002, and now we’re publishing the Third Edition. I’ve taken out details that are no longer relevant, included Appendix 1 from the USEF Rules for Eventing because of the guidelines this document contains for all the levels, but other than that, there are very few changes. Remember that this pamphlet is about the basics of course design for Jumping courses. It is only about the basics. My advice is to stick to the basics until you have a thorough appreciation of what effect your modifications will have. Like any art, you must understand the basics first, and only then can you mix them up and become more ‘creative’. In addition, I recommend that you read the Introduction

MONDAY, APRIL 6, 2020 CAN VIRTUAL RACING CASSE CALLS CANADA=S NEW CLENBUTEROL RULES A AGOOD START@ by Bill Finley FILL THE VOID The recent announcement by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA) that Clenbuterol can no longer be used within FOR HORSEPLAYERS? 28 days of a horse racing was something trainer Mark Casse had been waiting a long time to hear. The veteran trainer has been the sport=s most outspoken critic of what he saw as the abuse of the drug and the new regulations in Canada will be among the strictest in North American racing. But Casse said that the new rules only go so far in curbing the problem and that the real answer is a total ban of the drug. AHopefully, this is the first step of many,@ Casse said. AI know there are a lot of things out there in the works. The 28 days is a good start, but I would still like to see it banned. Not only is it being abused at the racetracks, it=s being abused with weanlings and yearlings at the sales. If we can make it zero tolerance then it=s much easier to police.@ Cont. p4 Virtual racing at Tampa Bay Downs IN TDN EUROPE TODAY The Week in Review, by Bill Finley REMEMBERING ERHAAB’S SPECTACULAR DERBY Still another track, Golden Gate Fields, was forced to stop Erhaab (Chief’s Crown) won the last G1 Epsom Derby run on a racing last week, leaving only a precious few wagering Wednesday. He has the long, lean elegance of a classic Thoroughbred, reminiscent of his sire Colonel John and second damsire, Canadian Champion With Approval, yet Airoforce received precocious speed from his damsire Cuvee. Airoforce was victorious at distances ranging between 6 1/2-furlongs and 1 1/16-miles. Although he competed mainly on turf, Airoforce won a key stake over dirt. His immediate pedigree has dirt and turf attributes. A magnificent looking $350,00 OBS April sales purchase campaigned by John Oxley, Airoforce flashed precociousness and speed in his debut, drawing away to win a six-furlong turf sprint by 3 1/4-lengths in a sharp 1:10.34, just a second off the Kentucky Downs track record. Airoforce dominated the Dixiana Bourbon Stakes (G3) by 2 1/2-lengths over a full field of fourteen over the Keeneland turf, including Camelot Kitten, Surgical Strike. Airoforce faced a full field of high-class youngsters as the favorite in the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1). and missed the victory by a neck, after racing in traffic and being distracted in the stretch.
