SMCS Welcomes the Wisconsin Singers

Neenah/Menasha: St. Mary Catholic Schools (SMCS) is pleased to welcome the Wisconsin Singers for a performance at the Jane Bergstrom Fine Arts Education Center on Sunday, April 24 at 4:00 p.m.

Featuring the top talents from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin Singers entertains more than 40,000 annually with stellar vocals, stunning choreography and spectacular sound. The Wisconsin Singers draws students from a variety of majors across campus who have a strong passion to perform, are committed to representing the excellence of the UW, and enjoy the fun of sharing the stage in communities across the state and nation as "Official Ambassadors of Goodwill" for the UW campus since 1967.

This year’s feature, So Classic!,is written by Robert Dietz and choreographed by Broadway professionals. With portions of more than sixty songs from legends like Tony Bennett and to such current pop icons as and One Direction, you’ll enjoy every minute of the Wisconsin Singers’ 48th season show, including Broadway favorites, a tribute to ABBA and an impressive medley of classics. Badger fans won't want to miss the WI Singers' rendition of the Fifth Quarter where audiences sing "Varsity", dance to "Tequila", "Jump Around", and learn how to “Bucky."

Students who are members of the St. Mary Catholic Middle School (SMCMS) and St. Mary Catholic High School (SMCHS) show choirs will enjoy a workshop with the college performers, and will have the opportunity to join them in a few numbers during the afternoon performance.

“This is such a fantastic opportunity for our vocal students,” said Michael Bailey, director of the SMCMS choir. “The energy and enthusiasm of the Wisconsin Singers is just contagious. They are a very talented group, and our students are really looking forward to learning from them. We hope that everyone in the Fox Cities will come out on April 24. It’s going to be a great show!”
