Dear Sirs, EHDC Large Site Consultation I write to support the Large Development Sites at:

 Whitehill and Bordon  Land South East of Liphook  Extension to Land East of Horndean (Hazelton Farm)  Northbrook Park  Neatham Down

Whitehill and Bordon

 I support the proposal for the Whitehill and Bordon site, firstly, because it has an existing Masterplan, and secondly, the provision of 1,254 additional houses is a logical extension to the redevelopment of Bordon after the departure of the Army. For that reason it could be considered that the Garrison site was a brownfield site.  The local heathland is of little agricultural value in comparison to other sites, and the habitat can be sensitively maintained around the new development.  The Settlement has a developing infrastructure which is in line with the growth in population, which is not the case in / ‘South ’.  The premise put forward by the Development company of ‘one job, one house’ is most sustainable and is far in excess of the offers made by the promoters of the other sites.  There is provision for gypsy, travellers and showpeople.  There is provision for both primary and secondary schooling in the town.  The town is seeking a designation as a Healthy New Town. Sufficient medical provision for the housing already exists, and playing fields already exist for the community.  Cycle routes are planned and major highway improvements have been carried out.  Although not on a railway line, which can be reached by road, it is on bus routes o 13 - - Alton - Whitehill - o 18 - - Haslemere o 18X - Haslemere - Alton College o 23 - Alton - Haslemere o 23X - - Alton o 28 - Bordon Town Service o 418 - Whitehill/Bordon - Farnborough Sixth Form o 737 - & Colleges - Bordon  There is provision for sustainable solar electricity generation.  I believe that this site is the most sustainable under NPPF para 8.  I believe that this site is the best of the 10 put forward by EHDC for consideration for inclusion in the Development Plan to 2036.

Land South East of Liphook  I support the proposal for the Land South East of Liphook site.  It is more sustainable by a lot of the proposed sites as the railway station is within walking distance of the station on the - railway line and is also on bus routes between: o Basingstoke - Alton - Whitehill – Haslemere 13 o Havant & South Downs Colleges - Bordon 737 o Liphook Circular route 250  It proposes a community building.  There is an innovative solution to provide leisure facilities by the inclusion of woodland that is within the SDNP.  The site will support the need for affordable homes in the east of the District.  I believe that this site is more sustainable than the sites in Four Marks/ ‘South Medstead’.

Extension to Land East of Horndean (Hazelton Farm)  I support the proposal for the Extension to Land East of Horndean (Hazelton Farm) site, due to its position on the District Council boarder, adjacent to in the Havant urban area and adjacent to the junction 2 of the A3(M)and the proximity of Portsmouth.  The site will support the need for affordable homes in the south of the District.  The primary school already exists as does the secondary school.  The a reasonable distance from a railway station on the London- Portsmouth railway line.  The area is well served by bus routes: o 8 - Clarence Pier – Gunwharf Quay - Portsmouth City Centre - Cosham - Waterlooville - - Clanfield o 28A - Southbourne - Horndean - Clanfield - Havant College o 28A - Southbourne - Clanfield - Horndean - Oaklands School - Havant College o 030 - London - Southsea o 37 - Havant - o 37X - Horndean - Clanfield - Petersfield - Alton o 637 - Petersfield - Horndean

 I believe that this site is more sustainable than the sites in Four Marks/ ‘South Medstead’.

Northbrook Park  I support the Northbrook Park site, firstly, because it has an existing Masterplan, and secondly, as the promoter has the intention of remaining associated with the development as an altruistic landlord under the Village Trust.  It proposes a community building.  The site is a completely stand alone development and not an appendage to another settlement.  It is separated by countryside from the settlements of Bentley and .  It is on the 65 bus route (Alton – ) and the promoter is in discussion with Stagecoach about augmenting the service into Farnham and the station.  Farnham railway station on the on the Alton Waterloo line is about 2 miles away.  It provided affordable housing in the NE of the District, and has excellent considered proposals to provide housing for the less able.  A proportion of Employment land is provided but the proximity of Farnham and Farnham railway station assist with the needs of those seeking off site employment.  I believe that this site is more sustainable than the sites in Four Marks/ ‘South Medstead’.

Neatham Down  I support the proposal for the Northam Down site, due to its position on the Alton Town Council boarder, adjacent the newly designated employment land to the south of the existing Employment area and adjacent to the A31, with access on to an existing roundabout.  It proposes a community building.  The site is in walking distance of the Alton industrial areas and the local railway station on the Alton Waterloo line.  It is in walking distance of the station bus stop which is served by the 64 bus (Alton- ) and 65 (Alton Guildford).  Due to its position, I believe that this site is more sustainable than the sites in Four Marks/ ‘South Medstead’.

Yours faithfully,
