FIAC Projects invites exhibitors to present artworks in museum conditions in direct proximity to their booth . Works are installed in the prestigious context of the Petit Palais and on the Avenue Winston Churchill, pedestrianised every year during FIAC week .

Instigated by FIAC, the pedestrianisation of the avenue evokes the original esplanade of the 1900 World Fair, creating a natural connection between the Petit Palais and the . The ensemble is an unprecedented platform to exhibit artworks within a historic museum context .

For the second year, Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel, managing director of Lafayette Anticipations – Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette, will collaborate with the curators of the Petit Palais on the conception of FIAC Projects . In her capacity as invited curator, Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel participates in the selection of artworks together with FIAC and the curatorial teams of the Petit Palais and is responsible for the conception and design of the exhibition presented within the Petit Palais .

PETIT PALAIS Built by the architect for the Exposition Universelle of 1900, the Petit Palais became the musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de in 1902 . Its collections illustrate the principal artistic currents from Ancient Greece until World War I, together with the decorative arts .

AVENUE WINSTON CHURCHILL Avenue Winston Churchill, which connects the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, is transformed into a pedestrian-only area during FIAC, thus recovering its initial function . At the time of the 1900 World Fair when the two buildings were inaugurated, the avenue was an esplanade dedicated essentially to pedestrians and created a visual unity between the two Palais .

Application forms for FIAC Projects are available online on our website: application.fiac.com Upon completion of all of the sections, you will be able to download your contract in PDF format . A copy of this document must be signed and returned by email to the Artistic Programmes Department .

APPLICATION CRITERIAS

• Only applications submitted by galleries accepted at FIAC 2020, or who have already participated in a previous edition of FIAC at the Grand Palais will be reviewed by the Selection Committee . • Galleries may submit several projects . Each project will be reviewed individually by the Selection Committee, before notification of admission or refusal . • Projects may be submitted jointly with other galleries, exhibitor, whether or not they are exhibitors at FIAC – Grand Palais . In this case, the applying gallery remains the only contractor and contact for the organization (responsibility, invoicing, insurance, logistics, etc ). . • Projects which are selected must be realized according to the submitted description . Any artistic or conceptual changes after admission must be approved by the Selection Committee . • The allocations of artworks are chosen by the Selection Committee, the technical and the curatorial staff of the Petit Palais and FIAC’s programming team, depending on the technical and security constraints of presentation of the artwork .

• A flat rate of € 2 500. excl . tax is charged for each project exhibited, regardless of its format . • Production, transport, installation, dismantling, tools and specific material, surveillance, insurance and maintenance of the artworks are the sole responsibility of the gallery .
