Faculty position in the clinical psychology sequence. The position involves teaching courses in the areas of child and adolescent development and , family interaction and , and clinical interviewing skills; supervising students in their clinical and work; directing research projects in the area of children, adolescents and families. Current active research areas: (a) examining within family relationships; (b) developing and testing parenting interventions for parents of children transitioning into adolescence; (c) prospective longitudinal studies of adolescent attempters and their families, aimed at identifying family and individual predictors of recurrent suicidal .

9/87 to 7/90 Post-doctoral fellow National Institute of Consortium on Family Process and Psychopathology

A three year fellowship that involved course work and workshops on theory and methodology with senior family researchers from across the country, and conducting research related to families and children. During the fellowship I carried out research projects with consortium faculty at the University of Virginia (with Deborah Phillips), and at the George Washington University Medical Center (with David Reiss).

Responsibilities included: individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and ; couple and family therapy; behavioral programming and staff consultation in an inpatient unit; and assessment with children; consultation and assessment in public elementary schools; psychological evaluations of court-referred sex offenders, intellectual and personality assessment; and development of a family therapy team using a live-consultation approach to treat selected families.
