27th March, 2020: Unlimited Access for the Participating Publishers is Now Live

As the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus COVID-19 continues and we await further directive from the UK Government we are providing appropriate support to the UK library community.

Whilst many school libraries and campus libraries currently remain open, deliveries of print material are increasingly being suspended and libraries are now beginning to close. To help manage the increased demand for eResources and to secure unrestricted access to content, Browns Books for Students, along with other vendors, have been in dialogue with our publishing partners to seek their support and approval to extend access to their eBooks.

For participating publishers, all owned eBook licences will transfer to unlimited access until the end of June. The transfer will take place automatically over the next few days and you need take no action. At the end of this agreement, the licences will revert to their current model.

During the same period, until the end of June, participating publishers are also offering unlimited access for all new purchases, irrespective of the model selected. At the end of the period the licence will revert to the model purchased. The website will continue to display all available models with the appropriate price for transparency. This change will take place over the next few days.

Notification will be provided in advance of the extended access period finishing.

The agreements described have been made with over 300 publishers and dialogue continues with all other publishing partners in order to expand the list and offer. Please see the list below for the most up to date list of participating publishers.

The situation is still evolving and we will be constantly reviewing our contingency plans, as guided by the Government and in conjunction with our partners, to best serve our customers. We will of course keep you updated with any further relevant changes as they occur.
