Physics of cyclic and monotonic plastic deformation of metallic materials, fatigue and fracture and the related damage processes. Effects of processing on microstructure and mechanical properties of light metals, including anisotropic mechanical behaviour, micro-plasticity, damage, dynamic strain aging and shear instabilities. Metal forming and formability. Rapidly solidified aluminium alloys, their fundamental microstructure – properties relationships. Nanostructured titanium for bio- medical applications.
