tommy’s showtime sensathon 2018 costume ideas It’s Showtime! Our theme for Sensathon is Showtime – so think bright lights, dancers and oh so many sequins! There are plenty of simple costumes you can put together for your little one that won’t break the bank. Here are a few of our favourites…
Create the look: Dress; Fabric hairband; Feather; Sequins
Difficulty rating 3/5 • Create a fun Showtime look! • Try to choose a single colour to tie the look together. • Pick a favourite dress from home, add a matching hairband - sequins would be amazing! Glue on a matching feather – you can even colour it with marker pens! • And, if you had one in the dressing up box, add a feather boa to complete the look.

Create the look: Black trousers; White shirt; Waist coat or tank top; Bow tie – see below for instructions; Hat; Sequins
Difficulty rating 3/5 • Our dancing superstar here looks ready to tap dance across the stage! • To make a bow tie use a length of ribbon and fold the outsides in. Wrap another piece over the middle and glue or stitch together. Thread this on a length of elastic and tie it (not tightly) around the shirt collar. • Add a hat with sequins or gems and you are ready I’m putting on to dazzle! my top hat

Difficulty rating 1/5 • If you already have an animal onesie this might be a quick easy costume. • Think roaring lions, tigers and other jungle friends. • A penguin would look great for black and white tap dancing!
Animal magic
Create the look: White romper suit or shirt and trousers; Bandana or a triangle dribble bib; Sequins – obviously!
Difficulty rating 4/5 • Create a shimmering Elvis look! Team a white shirt with white trousers. Try to choose a shirt with a large collar. Iron the collar out to make it bigger and glue sequins to the tips. Open the shirt buttons down lower than normal and tuck a triangle of fabric or dribble bib in the open neck. • Add some more sequins to the body of the shirt and, Elvis is in of course if you have them, add the blue suede shoes! the building
Create the look: Your little one’s most beautiful dress; or smartest trousers and shirt; Accessories; Sequins or other bling – of course!
Difficulty rating 1/5 • Be red carpet ready! Trawl through your little one’s wardrobe for a pretty party dress or outfit. Feel free to add some extra sequins, gems or sparkly accessories. • And why not bring along some film premiere or theatre props – think sequined masks, VIP tickets or feather boas.
Awards ceremony Don’t feel you have to stick to these, if you have an idea ready for a wonderful Showtime costume do go ahead and be creative! We would love to see your creations.
