I consider my thesis the verbal stem, root, or theme of this project, with the following people having scope over it: closest to the root are my supervisors, Pieter Muysken, Mily Crevels, and Rik van Gijn. Without them, the thesis would have been ungrammatical. They marked my arguments, switched references if necessary, and helped me through Ärger-tiv times. I thank Pieter especially for guiding me through the rijstepap to the rozijnen! My sincerest thanks for their belief in my abilities, for their outstanding support and patience, and for their guiding me towards becoming not only a better researcher, but also organizer, writer, typologist, etc. I could not have wished for better supervisors.
