PUBLIC LAMPS. The number of public lamps in use throughout the city on the 1st of April was 20,071. During the quarter, 104 new lamps were erected and 117 old lamps were relighted, 387 were discontinued) leaving 19,905 lamps in use at the close of the quarter ; a decrease of 166.
