' After widespread flooding hit northern and the west of early in the week, 2 5

° waters kept rising in eastern areas around Limburg and Liege. Several neighborhoods have 0 5 had to be evacuated as cellars flooded and streets were submerged in overflowing creeks and rivers. One major train line linking eastern Limburg to the capital had to be temporarily suspended early Thursday. No deaths or injuries have been reported so far in Belgium. More rain is expected later (Associated press).

The present map shows the flood delineation in the area of Hasselt (BELGIUM). The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image using a semi-automatic approach. The estimated geometric accuracy is 10 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
