WHY WOULD I WANT TO? 3

Because passing civilization down from one generation to the next is the HIGHEST HONOR AND HIGHEST RESPONSIBILITY anyone could have.

In a completely rational society, THE BEST OF US WOULD ASPIRE TO BE TEACHERS

and the rest of us would have to settle for something less. — Lee Iacocca 4

• Childhood • Early Childhood • Middle Childhood and Adolescence • Literacy • TESOL and Bilingual • Special Education 15 A WORD ABOUT ONLINE EDUCATION

LIU Hudson students receive the same quality instruction and individual attention online as they do in our classrooms.

While LIU Hudson is a brick-and-mortar school with locations in Westchester and Rockland Counties, as well as at West Point, we have a long history of expertise in online education. In fact, we taught our first online class in 2008.

We use Blackboard as our Learning Management System (LMS) and Zoom and Adobe Connect Video Conferencing for online classes, in both synchronous (students and professor join at the same time) and asynchronous (professor records class session for students to view on their own) formats. We also offer blended learning (with some classes sessions held on campus and others online) for increased flexibility.

We believe online education can and must be interesting, rigorous, and personalized while empowering students to interact with their professors and with each other in new and exciting ways. 16 THANK YOU
