Approximately one‐third of the new enrollees for Fall 2018 are Farmingdale State College alumni. This program is predominantly male (87%) with half of the students attending on a part‐time basis and half on a full‐time basis. Undergraduate Students Total undergraduate enrollment has increased by 364 students, or 3.8%, over 2017. This is the largest increase among the SUNY Technology Colleges sector. New Student Enrollment showed mixed results: First‐time to college student enrollment increased slightly (5.9%) but external transfer enrollment dropped a bit (4.9%). Our first‐time, full‐time bachelor’s degree seeking student one year retention rate continued to improve – up to 84% from 83% in the previous year. The percentage of full‐time students held steady at 78% of the total undergraduate student population. Over ninety‐seven percent of all first‐time students are enrolled full‐time. The average High School GPA of our incoming freshmen improved to 89.1 from 88.7 in Fall 2017. The average SAT score was 1115 up from 1097 last year. Enrollment by students of Hispanic origin showed a large increase again of just over 2 percentage points to 22.3%. The top five baccalaureate curriculums with the largest percentage increases in enrollment over 2017 are Dental Hygiene (Entry Level) (173%), Interaction Design (100%), Dental Hygiene (Completion) (66%), Applied Economics (52%), and Industrial Technology‐Facility Management (44%). The most popular curriculums among new first‐time students are Liberal Arts & Sciences (38%), Business Management (9%), and Science, Technology & Society (7%). Science, Technology & Society (21%) and Business Management (15%) remain the top two curriculums into which new transfer students enrolled. The top three feeder high schools are Lindenhurst High School, Brentwood High School, and Farmingdale High School. However, Connetquot High School, North Babylon High School, and Hicksville High School had the highest percentages of accepted students who registered.
