I’d like to invite you to be a member of the Guerin Catholic Booster Club for the 2014-15 seasons. This will be our third year in existence and we’re excited about what our booster club has been able to do to help our student-athletes. The Guerin Catholic Booster Club is an extension of the athletic department. The Guerin Catholic Booster Club’s charge is to promote school spirit with students, parents, and alumni, to enhance the image of the school within the GCHS mission and to provide financial support to foster the growth of the program within the guidelines of the IHSAA. We will also find ways to maintain goodwill among all schools and teams, recognizing that participation in high school athletics benefits students, families and the community.
This past year, our Guerin Catholic Booster Club was able to: 1. Create and distribute over 3,000 sports programs throughout all three seasons and receive tremendous financial help from 28 sponsors, 2. Increase awareness on Sportsmanship by placing signage around the campus and talking to parents about the importance of being a role model at events, 3. Host two “members only” events at a football and basketball game this past year, 4. Provide financial support to the State Champion Soccer team for their rings and team party and 5. Generate more funds and more awareness of Guerin Catholic Athletics through our support of the Spirit Shop, Golf Marathon, and Twitter (@GCBoosters).
There are several reasons to buy a Booster Membership. First, all membership levels enable the member to attend all Guerin Catholic non-playoff home events for free. Second, we have some new spirit wear and equipment in each package. Third, we have two celebration parties of Guerin Catholic Athletics twice a year that is free to attend with food, drinks and a speaker. Finally, your membership payment helps the Athletic Department offset the costs of operating a very competitive athletics program. In 2013-14, we were able to give back to the Athletic Department over $25,000!
So, how can you help? There are a few ways you can help us bring these goals to reality:
1. Buy a Guerin Catholic Booster Club membership! 2. We need volunteers to help us sell ad space in the Sports Program. If interested, contact me directly at 410-7495.
