BAKER SEEKS 1ST WIN SINCE 2013, KOZLOV RETURNS

 DAY 2 PREVIEW: American qualifier meets countryman on Tuesday when first-round play continues at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships. Krajicek earned the first ATP World Tour win of his career at Newport in 2014, qualifying before beating fellow American . Baker’s first tour-level victory came more than a decade earlier at Memphis in 2004.

By that time, Baker had peaked at No. 2 on the ITF Juniors Circuit and beaten five of the Top 20 players in this week’s Emirates ATP Rankings: No. 5 , No. 8 Tomas Berdych, No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, No. 16 , and No. 17 Gael Monfils. He won the prestigious title in 2002 and reached the Roland Garros boys’ singles final the following spring.

Eleven surgeries, however, have caused Baker to miss significant time from the tour, including the entire 2014 and 2015 seasons. Back with a protected ranking of No. 56, Baker is on the provisional entry list for the Rio 2016 Olympics August 6-14. Should he get past Krajicek, the 31-year-old Nashville native will enjoy his first ATP win since defeating at Cincinnati in 2013.

Also on Stadium, 18-year-old wild card Stefan Kozlov meets 35-year-old . Kozlov made his ATP World Tour debut at Newport as a 15-year-old in 2013. Last month, he defeated Newport No. 1 seed en route to his first quarter-final at ’s-Hertogenbosch. In the final singles match on Stadium, faces Canadian qualifier .
