R L. Map A41 Stamp Lagoon Firearms Using Shot Only Area (MU 1-7). NOTICE! SHOT BAN The use of toxic (lead) shot for hunting waterfowl has been prohibited in since 1995 and in Canada since 1997. The ban applies to all ducks, geese, coots and snipe. It does not apply to upland game birds (grouse, ptarmigan, quail, partridge, pheasants and turkey), migratory upland game birds (pigeons, doves), ravens (where seasons exist), or target shooting, although a local restriction may be implemented if there is a conflict with an important wetland. Federal regulations currently identify steel shot, bismuth shot, tungsten-iron shot, tungsten-bronze-iron shot, tin shot, tungsten - matrixshot, and tungsten-polymer shot as the only non-toxic shot permitted for use on waterfowl, coot and snipe. Hunters are advised to contact the CWS Canadian Wildlife Service in Delta (604-350-1950) for more details.
