We will take you to any out of town MEDICAL appointment, for example Victoria, , Campbell River that exceeds 60 KM (one way) from your point of departure. Cost? Donations appreciated Booking? Wheels for Wellness requires advanced notice in order to book a driver and vehicle. 24 hours is normal. If you are physically handicapped, we will need to know well in advance in order to provide an adequate vehicle. This includes the requirement to take a walker. SOS MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT When? SOS volunteer drivers offer safe and courteous transportation for community residents to and from medical appointments, within District 69. Medical appointments may include family doctor, dentist and physio therapy. The program is available from Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and is subject to volunteer driver availability. CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY - FREEMASONS CANCER CAR PROGRAM (FCCP) When? For cancer patients to and from treatment centres on Island. CARE-ONE MEDI TRANSIT LTD When? Non-emergency transportation servicing Nanaimo and surrounding areas, Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, weekends and Holidays if pre-booked. Wheelchair available (up to 250 lbs), transport vans can accommodate stretchers, oversized wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, and scooters. Cost? Please call for more information. Booking?
