PRE 1964-White Star, 1959-62

The White Star Mobile Training Team arrived Laos, Jan 1961. They advised Laotian troops, especially Meo hill people, against the Pathet Lao. Similar U.S. Special Forces groups had been performing the same mission under a different name since Sep 1959. When American military personnel withdrew from Laos in Oct 1962, in compliance with the Geneva Protocol of that year, the Central Intelligence Agency continued the advisory program. See:
