Feed the Nation

PeoplePlus and Staffline have launched a new nationwide worker transition service as part of the campaign to Feed the Nation during the Covid-19 crisis.

We are working together to move people who have been made redundant, are ‘at risk’ or in the gig economy into the ‘essential services’ industries.

Many industries like travel and retail have been savagely hit by Covid-19. At the same time many industries associated with food production, food supply, supermarkets and delivery services are crying out for thousands of additional workers. It’s these food and produce sectors which the government has now categorised as ‘essential services’ – because without them we will see more of the alarming pictures we’ve all become used to on our TV screens and social feeds, of empty supermarket shelves and massive queues for food and basic supplies.

Working with our sister company, Staffline Recruitment and our combined partner community – many of the UK’s leading supermarket retailers and food supply-chain operators – we have created a nationwide ‘transition service’ for workers who have been made redundant or ‘at risk’ or are on zero hours contracts or in the gig economy to enable as many of them as possible to transition into jobs in these new ‘essential’ services on a direct-to-interview or training-to-interview basis at our new website: www.feedthenation.co.uk

For those who need further training to move into a different industry there are options of a two-day ‘transition course’ or longer course of a week to two weeks, if they have been out of work for longer.

Now more than ever, we need to support workers into different sectors and equip them with the skills necessary to support their country. Our training also involves personal wellbeing and financial coaching, helping people at the most vulnerable points in their lives so that we support their mental wellbeing and help them into new jobs as quickly as possible.

If you are an employer, or an individual who wants to know more, please visit www.feedthenation.co.uk

Deliver to the Nation

We are helping to recruit and train a temporary workforce to #DeliverToTheNation As the UK’s biggest recruiter, we are supporting the delivery of our nation’s supply chains by responding to the increased demand in temporary job requirements.

Staffline Recruitment and PeoplePlus (the UK’s leading adult training provider) are responding to this unprecedented challenge in the form of a nationwide recruitment campaign, to support the UK’s essential services, including food supply, retail and delivery.

Apply for a job

Available Options We have three routes to get you back into work quickly:

Interview to Employment For candidates who are unemployed, job-ready and can start work immediately.

Transition Training For candidates who are unemployed and would benefit from a two-day training session before entering a new industry sector.

Sector Specific Employment Training For candidates who need more in-depth training approximately 1-2 weeks; to up-skill and prepare for work.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our South Coast Hub as an Operations Executive working in and around the Southampton area. Working on our Explore personal development programme we are looking for an experienced Youth Development practitioner who can build effective relationships with hard to engage young people aged 16 - 25.

Although the role is home based you will be expected to deliver face to face sessions and attend meetings, with flexibility needed to travel around the Solent area.

You will be experienced at building rapport quickly with young people especially with those that require additional support to engage in positive activity. With good knowledge of support services in the local area you will promote the programme and be the first point of contact for all enquiries.

You will also have experience in working in a multi-agency environment and building relationships with other organisations including undertaking outreach work.

It would also be great if you had some experience of delivering personal development sessions to groups of young people both face to face and virtually.

Alongside this you will also be confident with completing reports, risk assessments and other programme related paperwork.

This role is perfect for you if you are passionate about developing young people and giving them the tools to transform their lives.

Why we need Executives:

Last year, we helped more than 70,000 young people, with three in four young people on our programmes, move into work, education or training.

The young people we help face a range of challenges, such as unemployment, mental health issues or some have been in trouble with the law. Our job is to inspire and support young people, to help them reach their potential so that they can thrive and society can prosper.

We believe all young people should have the chance to succeed, and that young people are the key to a positive and prosperous future for all of us.

Everything from health and financial wellbeing support to discounts on your favourite restaurants, shops and cinemas • In-house learning platform!Develop your skills for your career and your role • The Trust will contribute 5%of your salary to the Trust Pension Scheme • You can volunteer for and/or attend events – music festivals, The Prince’s Trust Awards, active events etc. • Generous life assurance cover (4 x annual salary)

Here at The Prince's Trust, we're committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We want to be an organisation that's representative of the communities we serve, which is why we strive for diversity of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity and perspective. More importantly, creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can be themselves and do the best work of their lives is the right thing to do.

We’re a Stonewall Diversity Champion and we are an employer that is Disability Confident. Our staff, volunteers and young people are supported by PT CAN (our Cultural Awareness Network), PT NOW (Network of Women), PT DAWN (Disability & Wellbeing Network) and Pulse (LGBT Network). For more information, click here.

The Prince's Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of this commitment, we undertake basic disclosure checks in accordance with the Codes of Practice for all roles within the Trust, and for our roles working directly with young people, at an enhanced level. Having a criminal record will not automatically exclude applicants.
