For oversubscribed schools, the distance of the last child offered a place (measured in miles as a straight line) is shown. Information about the breakdown of places at other schools (Academies, Foundation, Aided and Trust schools), should be obtained from the school directly. St Mark’s CofE Primary School Danebury Road, Hatch Warren Basingstoke, RG22 4US (01256) 346 111 [email protected] Growing and Learning Together in God’s Love www.stmarksprimary.net News Update – Monday 24th June 2019 A message from Mr Applegate - A highlight of last week was attending the Year 6 Leavers’ Service at Winchester Cathedral. The pupils were so well behaved, and very much enjoyed the event. As well as thinking about finishing Year 6, the theme of “the importance of bees” was celebrated. The 3D artwork they created is shown here - amazing! - Another highlight was seeing Strictly Come Dancing arrive at St Mark’s. The afterschool club had a finale, hosted by the talented Mrs Bridle. The children did so well as they danced their hearts away to a packed hall. Well done . - Yet another highlight was seeing the Y5 children interact with, and sing to, the residents at Pemberley House. See the Y5 webpage for some ‘moving’ photos, as well as a video of their singing. I welled up as I saw the power of pupils positively impacting on the older generation – and vice-versa. What a school to be part of! And still much to come! Well done to…. Year R – Beatrice, Elijah, Summer Year 1 – Archie, Henry, Finley, Toby Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant Vacancy Year 2 – Bethany W, Daniel, Noah W We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Year 3 – Bella, Samuel W, Ollie B person to join our lunchtime team. Year 4 – Leah, Sophie W, Oliver C Hours of work are 11.45am – 1.30pm Monday to Year 5 - All of Year 5! Friday.

I shall focus on some of the creativity we have valued in Bucks SACRE this year both from our members and during our visits to schools. In addition, we receive wise counsel from our Education Officer at Bucks CC, Katherine Wells and our RE Adviser Bill Moore. At our meeting in October we learned that Suma Din our Muslim deputy had become a school governor and would no longer fulfil her role with SACRE. However, her legacy to us is her book published by the Institute of Education Press entitled ‘Muslim Mothers and their children’s schooling.’ See SACRED 7, for a review. (For this and all other references to SACRED see the website at the end of this section). In her contribution to SACRED 6 Suma wrote; From the Qur’an, I understand my role as being a ‘steward’ on this earth; one who will take care, take responsibility and hand on a legacy to those who come after them.

  • Mentor Development Programme
CANTERBURY CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY MENTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 2016 - 17 Our new Mentor Development Programme (MDP) has a strong focus on the leadership and management skills required to develop professional learning in other adults more broadly. The programme has been designed by the School of Teacher Education and Development with support of key colleagues in partner schools. MDP is centred on the skills and abilities needed to be able to support student teachers to have the greatest positive impact on pupils in our schools, and to support the retention of new teachers in the profession by preparing them to be more independent and resilient in their practice. It offers school mentors the opportunity to reflect on the diversity and transferability of the mentors’ skills in and beyond ITE. There are five sessions that will appeal to all levels of experience, each session will be run in various geographic locations throughout the year to ensure that school mentors can access local provision and build local networks. The sessions run consecutively but are also stand-alone, and they are skill focused rather than process driven. All sessions provide opportunities for school colleagues to meet the standards on the Partnership Evaluation Framework (PEF). All sessions are mapped to the National Standards for school-based initial teacher training (ITT) mentors (July 2016).
