ADITIONAL INFORMATION HOW TO GET FROM BORYSPIL AIRPORT (KBP) TO KYIV

Taxi Bus/train+metro Useful links

• We suggest you to order Uber • There is a Sky Bus near • Boryspil taxi or Sky Taxi Terminal F (goes to Metro Airport:https://kbp.aero/en/ • Approximate price is around Vokzalna). • Airport Kyiv: 300-500 UAH (9-17 EUR) • Train to Metro Vokzalna. https://iev.aero/en/ • Buses depart every 15-20 • Metro Map: minutes (about 30 minutes at https://100realty.ua/map/metro night after 8 p.m.) PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Metro (subway) – especially useful to avoid traffic jams during the rush hours. Cost - 8 UAH per trip. Plastic coins or cards (the latter less useful for short stay in Kyiv) are bought at the entrance. Metro stations are marked with green (usually) big M letter. It takes about 2-3 minutes to get from one station to another + time for entering and exiting a station (1-5 minutes+ 1-5 minutes – it depends upon depth of metro) + time if you change metro line (about 1-4 minutes)+ time to wait for a train (usually 1 during rush hours, 2-3 minutes in daytime, 5- 15 in late night). Metro starts working about 6 a.m., and is closed right after the midnight, but it depends on specific station.

Buses, trolleybuses, trams – 8 UAH per trip. Tickets are sold inside the bus (or other vehicle) by a special person or the driver.

Marshrutka (smaller buses – usually yellow or white private busses) – the most frequently used. Cost inside the city - usually 8 UAH, but may be different. Tickets are sold inside a vehicle right after entering it. The final destination or intermediate points are often written at the front or right windows. (marshrutkas unlike buses or trolley-buses usually stop only at passengers request).

GRADING SYSTEM

ECTS, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, was developed by the Commission of the European Community in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad. It provides a way of measuring and comparing learning achievements, and transferring them from one institution to another. In ECTS, 60 credits represent the workload of a full year of study; normally 30 credits are given for a semester. It is important that no special courses are set up for ECTS purposes, but that all ECTS courses are mainstream courses of the participating institutions, and followed by home students under normal regulations. Credits are awarded only when the course has been completed and all necessary examinations have been successfully taken. When the student has successfully completed the study programme agreed upon by the home and host institutions, transfer of credit will take place. The student will then continue his or her studies at the home institution without any loss of time or credit. Transfer of credit is realized with a form (Transcript of Records) and by applying a special grading system in addition to the local grading system.
