Dear colleagues! WE INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "TARAS SHEVCHENKO IN CULTURAL MEDIA ENVIRONMENT: HISTORIC FIGURE, MILESTONES OF HIS CREATIVE WORK, DISCOURSE (DEDICATED TO 200th ANNIVERSARY OF KOBZAR'S BIRTH) to be held at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University on 10-11th April 2014

The themes of the section meetings of the Conference involve the consideration of a wide range of issues of Linguistics, Literature, Ukrainian Studies, Cultural Studies and History, particularly the following ones: - Modern issues of Shevchenko studies: experience and perspectives; - Taras Shevchenkop's works in the context of European culture; - Linguistics and poetry; - The theory and practice of translation; - Ethnography, folklore nature of Taras Shevchenko's works; - Modern interpretation and learning methods of Taras Shevchenko's literary heritage at the secondary and higher school; - Taras Shevchenko in the sociopolitical and academic life of Ukraine of the 19th century; - Philosophical and world-view concepts of the Genius of Art. Working languages of the Conference: Ukrainian, Russian, English. To take part in the conference we ask you to send the following papers before the 10th of February 2014 by the e-mail [email protected]: 1. the application form (a separate file) consisting of the title of the report and information about the author (the first name, the second name and middle name, academic degree, academic status, home address, contact phone number, e-mail address; it is necessary to denote: the speech with the report, only a publication; the participants who have no academic degree should present the review signed by a doctor or candidate and certified by the seal of the educational institution (scientific institution); 2. text of the article (see the requirements); 3. scanned copy of the receipt of the publication payment and the receipt of payment of the registration fee; funds are supposed to be sent by postal order to the address of the organizers or by e-mail. The materials of the conference to be published in the Conference Scientific Digest. One page fee amounts 25 UAH. Organization fee – 100 UAH – is paid together with the payment of the publication. Requirements to the article writing 1. Annotation and key words, the title of the article, author’s name and surname. 2. The amount – 8–12 pages, 1.5 line spacing without syllabification. 3. Format – A4; type style – Times New Roman, type size – 14. 4. Margins: upper – 2, lower – 2, left – 3, right – 1.5. Indentation – 1sm. 5. Name and surname, place of work (without abbreviations) are printed in the right corner at the top of the page (type size 12, bold). 6. The title of the article is printed in bold (capital letters, type size 14) in an interval after the name of the author. 7. The text of the article is printed in an interval after the title. 8. There is only one initial letter before any surname in the article. An unbreakable quad is put between the initial letter and the surname (by pressing the keys ctrl+ shft+quad simultaneously). 9. The examples are put in italics: sentences and words are italicized without inverted commas (including the examples from literature). Phonemes, morphemes and symbols are used in bold. 10. Quotations are put in quotes «…». 11. The meanings of the words are put in single quotes. 12. It is necessary to differentiate between the hyphen (-) and the dash (–). E.g. «Connotation – is», p. 5 – 7, 2012 – 2013, but popular-scientific etc. 13. The author’s gaps are marked by the suspension marks in quotes. 14. References should be given only in square brackets, e.g. [1], [2; 5]. The page is indicated in such a way: [1; 42] or [3; 67 – 68]. 15. Conventional shortenings and the literature (the word LITERATURE – bold) are printed in the alphabetic order at the end of the article.

The texts which failed to undergo proof-reading will not be published. The author is responsible for the content of the article.
