Microsoft® Office 2013 Installation Guide no longer offers direct downloads of the Office 2013 trial on their website. However, you may still use your 180-day trial software product key from Labyrinth to install Office 2013 on your Windows computer for use with your textbook. In short, you will need to install Office 365/2016 and activate your license before you can download Office 2013. The process will take some time, so be patient! Redeem Your Product Key 1. Using the instructions provided with your purchase, go to http://office.com/setup

Enter the 25-chracter product key you received with the purchase of your textbook here.

2. You will need a to complete the installation, but if you don’t already have one, it’s free to create. For more details see the Microsoft instructions at the end of this document. 3. You may be asked to enter a credit card in order to get a free month. This is an optional step.

1  Activate Your Trial Subscription 4. When the installation is complete, go to your Start menu > All apps and choose any of the Office apps that were recently installed, such as Word. 5. You should see a message that your trial software has successfully activated:

6. Open a blank document and click File to enter Backstage view. 7. In the left column, choose Account and then choose Manage Account.

This will open a web browser where you will sign in with your Microsoft Account to access your Office Account options. You may now quit the Office application you opened. Download Office 2013 8. Choose Install > Language and install options > Additional install options.

2 9. From the drop-down menu on the next screen, choose the version of Office 2013 that is best for your system. In most cases, you will choose the 32-bit version.

Uninstall Office 365 You cannot have more than one version of installed at a time. If you still have Word open, go ahead and exit the program.

10. Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and features. Locate Office 365 and choose uninstall. 11. A restart is recommended. Install Office 2013 12. You can now run the installer for Office 2013. 13. Once the installation is complete, you can verify which version of Office is installed by going to Start > All apps and locate one of the Office suite such as Microsoft Word. You should see the version in the name of the program:

3  About Your Office 365 Home Premium Academic Subscription The product key included with this document will activate 180-day access to your Office 365 Home Premium subscription, which includes the latest versions of , Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, and Publisher. This special academic subscription can be installed on a maximum of five devices. If course work requires more than 180 days of concentrated study, additional subscriptions may be purchased. There are no discs associated with Office 365; instead there is a very simple subscription process that you can begin now. Step 1: Using one of your devices, go to the browser and type in the following: http://office.com/setup. (Note: Your product key will activate the 180-day subscription ONLY at this setup site. Other trial offers will not accept this product key for the 180-day subscription.) Step 2: Read the text page that appears on the screen. At the bottom of the page, there is a space for a 25-digit number. This is where the product key number should be inserted. (The product key is provided to you via electronic distribution directly by the publisher when you receive this document.) Step 3: Type in the 25-digit number. Proofread the number to be sure it is correct. Step 4: Click on the box that says Get Started. Create an Account and begin installing the Office 365 Home Premium subscription. Follow the instructions as prompted.
