Browser Plug­ins & Downloads

If you plan to view documents created with applications that you do not have installed on your computer, you will need to download and install plug‐ins. Plug‐ins are free software applications available on the World Wide Web (Web). These applications add functions to your Web browser and/or enable you to view specialized content.

You will need this application to read Portable Document Format (PDF) files created by Adobe Acrobat. Windows Not Available Compatibility Pack for Office 2007 Documents

You will need this free compatibility package if you are unable to open a Office 2007 document. You can install the compatibility pack on a computer that is running 2003 programs, Microsoft Office XP programs, or programs. Once installed, it will allow you to open and save files created with MS Word 2007, MS PowerPoint 2007, and MS Excel 2007 in earlier versions of the Microsoft Office applications. Windows Not Available PowerPoint Viewer This viewer will play Microsoft PowerPoint presentations without requiring Microsoft PowerPoint to be installed on your computer. Windows Not Available Word Viewer This viewer allows Explorer to open, view and print documents without requiring Microsoft Word to be installed on your computer. Windows Not Available Excel Viewer This viewer allows Internet Explorer to open, view and print documents without requiring Microsoft Excel to be installed on your computer. This plug‐in plays movie and audio files of a number of different formats. Windows Mac Apple QuickTime The QuickTime application plays most movie and audio files, either as part of a Web page or independently outside your browser. Windows Mac RealPlayer

Real Media player will play Real audio and movie files as well as some other types. Windows Mac Flash You will need this application to view Flash video files. Windows Mac Shockwave Shockwave player allow you to experience interactive multimedia, including audio, video, animations, puzzles and the like, through your Web browser. Windows Mac Java You will need to have the Java Virtual Machine installed on your computer in order to run various Java applets. Windows Not Available Internet Explorer If you use Internet Explorer as your Web browser, you will want to be sure to download all critical updates, recommended releases, and other beneficial system updates for Internet Explorer.
