William Arthur Harris of Tracy city died July 25 at the hospital in South Pittsburg. He was 91
Mr. Harris was a son of the late Ben and Mary Foster Harris. He was a veteran of World War I.
Services were Friday afternooon in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ray Mills officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Burns Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Manley Harris of Tracy City; two daughters, Alma Gay McNeely of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jeweldine Marquette of Tracy city; and two sons Charles W. and James D. Harris , also of Tracy City.
Foster and Son Funeral Home of Tracy City was in charge of arrangements.

Willard Henry Muters was born on December 18, 1905 , the third son and fifth child of Henry Jr. Muters and Anna Mary Meyer. He was born on his parent's farm near Spencer, SD. The first son, Samuel William died in April of 1904 at the age of five. At the time of Willard's birth he had two older sisters, Lydia and Iva Hazel and an older brother Clair Samuel, born 1904. Later in 1908 a younger brother Vern John Muters was born near Spencer. The baby of the family, Dena Mae Muters, was born in 1910 at Old Trail, SD.
The family moved from Spencer to homestead a farm at Old Trail in Stanley County near Fort Pierre, Sd. in about 1909. Willard with his family moved to southern Saskatchewan to homestead a farm near Quantock, which later became known as Rock Glen. Rock Glen is just into Saskatchewan, north of the Montana northern border, on the eastern side of Montana.
In about 1915 when Willard was about ten years old, he moved with his mother Anna, his brother's Clair and Vern and his sister Dena to Assiniboia. This was about forty-five miles north of Rock Glen and closer to a school. Willard's isster Dena remembers that Willard did not stay long in Assiniboia, but chose to return to the farm with his father.
Willard's father, Henry Jr. died in 1922 at age fifty seven, in a hospital in Assiniboia. willard left Canada when he was seventeen or eighteen years of age and returned to the United States. His sister Dena thought that he lived for a time in South Dakota and then later moved to Chicago, Illinois.
On April 19, 1930 Willard "Bill" Muters married Elizabeth Foster in Chicago. Three children were born to this marriage: Robert Henry Muters was born on July 19, 1935; Gleen willard Muters was born on November 19 1940 and Linda Diane Muters was born on November 28, 1945.
Elizabeth Margaret Foster Muters died on February 111, 1980 at age seventy two, in Chicago, Illinois.
Willard "Bill" Muters died on October 30, 1983, at age seventy seven, in Chicago, Illinois.

Margaret Foster Dies In Chicago
Mrs. Margaret (Polly) Shook Foster, a native of Tracy City, died following a lingering illness Wednesday morning of last week in Chicago, Ill. hospital. Death came on the moring of her 56th birthday.
She was the oldest child of Mrs. Buena Cannon Shook of Tracy City and the late Alan Melvin Shook. She was graduated from James K. Shook School and Grundy County High School in Tracy City and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Prior to her marriage in 1941 to Haskell Foster, who survives she was employed as a secretary by the Tennessee Consolidated Coal Co.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
A graveside service in City Cemetery was conducted Friday morning by the Rev. M. T. Johnson. Pallbearers were Charles Schaerer, James Cheek, Henry Flury, Jr., Henry King Allen, Wiley Harris, and Tommy Owens. Foster and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors in addition to husband mother include two daughters, Diana Foster and elaine Foster Lowrie, both of Tracy City; one brother Alan Cannon Shook, Tracy City; one sister, Mrs. Ralph Milbrath, Clermont, Fla.; two grandchildren; also, two uncles, James Shook, Jasper, and Scott Cannon, Palmer; and two aunts, Mrs. Lou Shook Woodlee, Chattanooga, and Mrs. Adah Cannon Henderson California.

She was one of 10 children. A pioneer in the real estate industry, Isabel began her career in 1959, becoming one of the first femal members of the Chattanooga Board of Realtors in 1960. She began Langley Realty along with her husband Hiram in 1961 and successfully operated the company for more than 30 years. Recognizing the need for women to take leadership roles in what was then a predominantly male profession, Isabel was instrumental in forming the local Women's Council of Realtors in 1966, serving as vice-resident and later as president of the local chapter. In 1973 she was appointed president and governor for the state chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors, where she traveled extensively throughthout the State, implementing educational programs for the advancement of women in the real estate industry. She was named Women's Council Woman of the Year in 1983. Isable's service to the local Chattanooga Board of Realtors was extensive, having served in numerous leadership roles on both the local and state level. She was named Realtor of the year in 1975. A tireless worker and fierce fundraiser, Isabel's community service included Greater Chattanooga Chamer of Commerce, where she served as an ambassador, Kosmos Women's Club, Pro-re-Bona Nursery and Daycare to benefit under privileged working mothers, and the foundation of the Cumberland Youth Foundation in 1957. In 1985 Isabel's love for children led her to join the Siskin Phonathon, an annual event to benefit the Siskin Foundation and siskin Foundation and siskin Pre-School, where she continued as co-chair until 2001. Isabel was the first woman appointed to the CARTA Board in 1980, where she served for nearly twenty. She was honored at the dedication of the CARTA parking facility, where her picture hangs today. Survivors include her husband Hiram Langley of Chattanooga; daughter Priscill Woods of Atlants; sons and daughter-in-laws Hiram G (Chip) Langley III and wife Betty Anne, Mile Langley and wife beverly of Chattanooga; sister Betty Sue Patton of Knoxville, and Edna Robinson; brother, Mart Meeks of Gruetli-Lagger; seven grandchildren, tow great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, mephews, and freinds. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Octover 23, at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 1505 Moore Road in Chattanooga with the Rev. Larry Schenk officiating. Mrs. Schaerer retired from the Grundy County School system and was a member of the Navarre United Methodist Church and a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Tracy City, where she served as organist for 56 years. Mrs. Schaerer was a member of the Delta Cappa Gamma Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robet & Lou Hill Foster; husband, Charles B. Schaerer; brother Robert Hill Foster.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Lay of Navarre, Florida; Betty Nan Church of Tracy City; son, Charlie Schaerer of Jasper; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Tracy City - Robert Lewis "Batman" Bateman Sr. 54, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2005, at his residence in Tracy City. Mr. Bateman was preceded in death by his parents, Vester and Julie Nunley Bateman; sister Francis Sanders; and a grandson, Nicholas Bateman.
He is survived by two sons, Robert L. Bateman of Sequatchie, Tenn., David Bateman, of Tracy City, sisters, Faye Turley, of Tracy City, Geneva Wilhite, of Tracy City, and Henritta Patterson, of Monteagle, Tenn; and two grandchildren, Dustin and Mackenzie Bateman
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Andy Lockhart officiating.

She was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Marion County High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James M. Harris and Emma Harris Smith.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Owens, Guild, Justin Cody and Jesse Klein, St. Louis, Mo; daughter Cory Klein, Perryville, Mo; companion, Bobby Haynes, Guild; brother Jim Harris, Crumpler, N.C.; sister Henrietta Thompson, Ooltewah; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday, May 19, 2007.
Interment will follow in Gilliam cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m., CDT until time of service, Saturday, May 19, 2007.
